/r/mensrights is pretty pissed off that this new documentary is call "The Red Pill" which admittedly was taken as our name because we believed it to be an accurate metaphor for learning the truth about gender politics.

When TRP was first created, men's rights was a lot more angry with a lot less political correctness. Over time it started trying to distance itself with the righteous anger, and started trying to appease the political correct culture we live in. At some point, it completely alienated men by trying to control the topics and language to first and foremost satisfy women in their fight against feminism.

We decided that we could represent male interests and not make a divide at the magic women-are-wonderful line that men's rights did.

We also saw the same effect happening on seduction, where the topics went from pulling chicks at a club to "leave her better than you found her..." The fuck?

So we created TRP.

MR wanted to both demonize feminism, while maintaining female superiority - as evidenced by their appeal to political correct language and kowtowing to feminist accusations of misogyny. That effectively disarms their argument as they're unwilling to consider the whole truth. They believe gender equality is possible if only people just cared about the men just a tad more.

I believe that men's rights and TRP and seduction has a lot of overlap, there's a reason we exist. Both MR and Seddit spent a lot of time trying to appease the feminist overlords with tone and language policing. We clearly needed a place that could openly discuss reality.

For instance, men's rights has no problem talking about divorce rape and how unfair it is. Red Pill has no problem talking about the hypergamy driving this effect.

How could MRAs possibly believe that divorce is initiated primarly by women, that robs men and gives free cash prizes to women, and not think - hey, maybe there's a reason this happens...

I'm not a red pill activist, though I do support Men's Rights Activists because some of what they fight for is just.

I don't believe red pill to be a political movement, rather I believe it to be a personal journey that each of us choose to take and live better because of it.

That all being said, I also enjoy chaos and there is no doubt in my mind that this documentary is more of a lampoon than a fair shake for men's rights. And I think it's time that the fellas over there realize that playing to feminism's hand is never going to pay off.

So if anybody has a spare dollar or two, you should fund the kickstarter. If you don't want to or don't like the idea, then don't. That's fine too.

That said, it's a movie with our name on it, and if they paint us as the worst misogynists in the world, well, I get a half chub just thinking about it.

The longer men's rights tries to distance themselves from actual men, the worse their movement will be.
