Glycerols enter the body primarily as dietary fat and now because of misguided nutritional theory in synthetic forms like sugar alcohols.
If adipocytes are starved of glycerols, they cannot produce triglycerides to store.
Like reducing insulin response, adipocytes can be denied new sources of glycerol by not consuming fat or synthetic glycerol equivalents, but this is slow and inefficient, relatively speaking.
Instead, the body can be forced to metabolize glycerol at much higher rates.
Conventional fitness wisdom says to avoid lactic acid production for performance purposes, but for the purpose of reducing body fat percentages, production should be maximized because lactate metabolism catabolizes glycerol.
Lactic acid is produced almost exclusively by fast-twitch "white" muscle.
Lactic acid production by white muscles can be maximized by maximizing percent VO2max.
Surprisingly, weight lifting does not maximize percent VO2max.
The activities that maximize percent VO2max are sustained high powered activities like sprinting and jumping.
Conslusion:
Minimizing insulin response is effective, but the most effective way to reduce body fat percentages is to starve adipocytes by rapidly metabolizing glycerol.
