Summary: We are all trying to improve.

That is why you’re here, and reading this post right now.

We are all trying to get better at something.

And surprisingly, success in different areas are determined by pretty much the same dynamics if we look at the roots of them.

This piece of mine is about The Locker Room Effect — something that is not much talked about, and an effect that redeems itself subconsciously.

Body: What I like most about locker rooms is that in the modern world, we are all able to have a glimpse of those places. We don’t need to be a pro-athlete to experience the atmosphere of locker rooms — if you are lifting, which you should already be, you are already there at least few days a week.

Most people do not understand the importance of the locker room.

Locker rooms are where dreams are shared with each other, where you get motivated for the next hour and a half that you will spend pushing your limits, where transformations are pointed out. Locker rooms are where everybody’s aspirations are pretty much the same, but the journeys are different. Some reach the destinations they want, some don’t. Everyone wants the same things, while only a few get them.

Locker rooms are important. You might not have already understood its vitality, but after this post your view on them will change drastically, I hope. In the locker room you are able to see your competition. It is not a‘ctually a very obvious competition, since it seems like others’ success doesn’t affect yours. But by the time passes, you start to realize that as you see familiar people improving well, you start to look at your body again in the mirror. Has your transformation been as successful as their’s? If not, that’s bad! You have to work harder.

In the locker room, you share your experiences and stuff that helped you, with other people. In the end, your destination is the same — only the journeys are different. No one really cares about whether the other party has improved or not, you just exchange ideas.

In the locker room, you start to realize that the faces are changing quickly. Faces that are not familiar has increased, and that fat dude who used to wear the same shorts for a few consecutive days is no longer there. And you know why. It is not that he has transferred to another gym; he gave up.

The thing is, by the time, you are improving. You are getting better.

There are just too many different dynamics that will carry you through your dreams. And most of them are reached just by being in the locker room.

Key point of locker rooms are people in there. It is the hub for the people with dreams, with goals. But, how many of them are ready to do whatever it takes? You only find out by getting in there everyday.

Other people are one of the biggest elements of motivation for many people. It is true that you have to only compete with your older self, but it is like taking steroids to supply that with competing with other people.

You have to realize that whatever you are trying to get, you are trying to get it from an auction, not from a store that is open to everybody regardless.

There are two very crucial aspects of getting what you want:

*Inner Competence

*Outer Competition

You have to first take yourself to the locker room.

Then, you need to take yourself there every single day.

In this case, thinking in binary is a must; you either did make that day a success, a 1 — or failed to make that day a success, a 0.

Locker room is open all day, everyday.

The thing that matters is whether you are in there everyday.

If not, to be honest, nothing really matters.

Only thing that makes you different from that fat guy who wore same shorts everyday and then quit is whether you have been there enough to observe those little details.

Locker room is your friend.

Be there.

Conclusion:

Thank you for reading.

Just remember, the only thing that matters is whether you apply it, or not. Otherwise, there is no difference between you and the masses who doesn’t even know about this article.

And I beg, please, take action. There is no other way of doing something, than doing that. It is THAT obvious.
