Keep in mind that our founding fathers were very careful to institutionalize a limited franchise. The vote was restricted to those who were well-educated, informed, and had skin in the game.

The argument that there hasn't been a draft since Vietnam thus rendering it irrelevant is a fallacious one. Enrolling in the SSS demonstrates that the man is willing to pay the ultimate price for the greater good of the collective. This should earn him the sacred franchise (assuming we even have a democracy in the first place -- we don't).

Should the equilibrium of international conflict change, the draft may indeed become very relevant. History has proven this time immemorial.

Women's suffrage has been an utter disaster since day one -- prohibition. This was soon followed by the swelling of the federal government and the nanny state. Should women's suffrage be repealed, the Democratic party would vanish overnight.

Or federal loans for school. I was talking with an immigrant coworker from an ex USSR country. She refused to pledge allegiance to the communist party as a kid which led to lots of threats and hassling of the family and moving to the U.S. Here we prefer the subtle approach. Join the SS or have your opportunities limited. Or if you're from money or don't need college / federal jobs to succeed, pay your own way. This is a much better system as we can keep the smart and successful but extract more from them and keep the welfare (federal jobs and loans) for the sheepish masses. Still BP as fuck though. Women got the right to vote on August 18, 1920 and got a say in how this country is governed. Since then the draft has been enacted 3 times with ww2, Vietnam, and Korea. That is a lot of men dying and a lot of women pretending they are our equals.

I don't care if there hasn't been a draft in years. The fact is that there could be at any time. All it takes is for shit to get real in some fucked up part of the world us to think we need to stick our noses in and help police everyone and we will have another draft. With that knowledge we as men know that when we sign that we know how disposable we truly are. At any time we could be called up to fight and die for a country that thinks we are only good for cannon fodder.

Women claim they want equality but they really don't. If they did they would have fought to be included in the draft the moment they had the right to vote. Instead they continued thinking that men are the ones that should fight and die for their country because that's what the disposable gender does.

Don't get a fed job unless you have to. Nothing will suck the motivation, and general give a fuck out of you faster that working for uncle Sam. Contrary to popular belief "government jobs" are not good. They can be high paying if you are an executive type but those exec types would make more in the private sector. If you are at the bottom then you have a cush job but there is very little opportunity to make leaps up the ladder if you are motivated.

Also quit bitching about the draft. Its a required thing lest you would rather be speaking German or Japanese or some shit. If you want to crusade for MRM then go do it but focus your efforts on obtaining the benefits for male sacrifice that were lost, not undermining the society.

What amazes me constantly is how many people don't actually know we no longer have a draft. Much of the recent anti-war and anti-military sentiment from the political left is predicated on a Vietnam-era paradigm of poor, disenfranchised Americans drafted while the "rich" privileged college students get a free pass.

You still see that paradigm pushed every now and again...kinda takes the wind out of those sails if people actually know that the modern US military is all volunteer. Therefore people will deliberately muddy those waters. God forbid anyone let actual facts get in the way of good old-fashioned anti-establishment thinking.

Personally, as a veteran myself, I am against the draft. If you don't want to be there, then I don't want you alongside me in combat or at sea. It's important that everyone that would serve alongside me at least has the same basic motivation and strength of character to volunteer.

While a part of me chafes at the blatant double standard of women demanding equality but being mum about SS or draft, ultimately I know (thanks to TRP) that most women will not have that basic strength of character to the extent that men potentially will. In theory, I have no problem with women who volunteer, as they tend to be outliers initially....in theory. Those outliers do exist but they are still outliers.

In practice I know that the feminine imperative and political correctness is allowing women into the military that really shouldn't be there, even though they volunteered. Adding women to the SS or drafting them will exacerbate this problem. I don't want to see good operators have their work undone by fuckup draftees, especially female draftees.

As for government jobs, unfortunately they are the future. With all our goods being manufactured in China and a lot of our tertiary sector jobs being exported to India and the Phillipines (I'm thinking tech support here...guess what I did for years before I lost my job to Indian contractors). I think we can all look forward to either living on welfare or being a low-level government toadie.

Government jobs... not even once!
