Try this some time. It's a more neutral question, in the sense that it doesn't carry an implicit value judgment (OP's question carries the implicit greed/money issue and some may pick up on it).

Ask, "If you had to be one or the other, would you rather be loved but not respected? Or respected but not loved?"

I estimate 10/10 women say loved but not respected and about 8/10 men will say respected but not loved. I've seen this done at two different conventions with auditoriums of couples and the difference of opinion is noticeably split down the gender line, with each side looking at the other with "WTF?" in their eyes.

In 2014 the average 30 year old doctor is going to be a far better catch than the average 20 year old nursing student (can't actually be an RN that young anymore). Skinnier, better dressed, better family and values, to say the least of the obvious smarter and more economically constructive. In terms of carousel history, you're probably ahead too. 30 year old doctor = 1 to 2 LTRs with betas she met in school, 20 year old nursing student = ridden it since she was 15, or already engaged or married (hence outside the sample).
