dude glasses shouldn't hold you back in any way. Most of the time SMV goes up

Glasses should be SMV neutral in most cases. A really nice pair of glasses that suits you can make you look better in some circumstances.

This it comes down to fashion with glasses and nothing else, if your frames don't fit your face, compliment the shape of your face or are massively out of date women will call you a nerd or a creep but if you get a modern style and they fit your face you're solid.
I should make a note that every woman I know from my mother to my last girlfriend all think those Crizal light adjusting lenses that get darker as they are exposed to more light make you look creepy as fuck. I don't know what it is exactly but they just look creepy, they make handsome dudes look creepy so steer clear of those.

I think they are SMV neutral. Part of societal attitudes about them are from the previous generation when they were less common. When I got my first pair in college I didn't think much of it. All my professors (baby boomers) mad a huge fucking deal about it, assuming I was self-conscious and attempting to assuage that self-consciousness. I wasn't the least bit self-conscious because I had chosen the right frames and I thought they looked badass. Everybody my age or younger didn't even notice, and were surprised that I hadn't had glasses before.
Pick the right frames for your face shape and you'll be fine.

The whole "women are attracted to traits that would have benefited our hunter-gatherer ancestors" is such dodgy, bro science-y territory. Theres some logic to it, but its also a whole lot of assumptions.
Many women like long hair, but if you've ever grown out your hair you know how stupid of a decision it would be for your survival in a primitive hunter-gatherer world. It obscures your vision constantly.
Many women like big muscles, but all that mass would have made for a terrible hunter when prey was mainly caught through stealth and persistence hunting.
So who knows man. I've had a lot of women tell me outright that I look sexier in my glasses. I prefer to wear contacts. You have to remember that a woman's attraction isn't primarily visual. If shes complimenting your beard/glasses/hair, its usually because she likes you overall and just needed an excuse to compliment you (even she won't be aware of this on a conscious level though).

And even if there are strong links in being attracted to men who could be "hunters," at least part of our brains have moved beyond that, and not everything about your appearance has to cater to that thousand year old lizard brain that wants a big bad caveman.
Stuff like glasses or dressing nicely or having trimmed fingernails doesn't necessarily make you low SMV; it just gives you more options for how you want to present yourself. I'm a decently buff guy with glasses, so I can choose to be bookworm or gym bro depending on how I want to be perceived; all I need to do is change my outfit and conversation topic, and I can basically become a different person. Most people are very "flat" characters who are easily summed up in a word or two, like frat guy, skater, stoner, sorority girl, etc., which tell you about 80% of what you need to know about them.
If instead you diversify yourself, your interests, and your appearance, you have a much stronger hand and far more opportunities to surprise people with the things you know and can do, and you have more opportunities to talk to different types of girls.

Some head shapes are just created for stylish classy glasses, and that could be used for advantage. For others, LASIK should be appropriate solution in most cases.

Glasses are a minor inconvenience at worst so long as you're fashionably minded; at best they can be a great accessory.
I think I look better without glasses, but the two looks inspire such different feels that it's practically comparing apples and oranges.

Glasses almost always count against you. Even in the cases where the frames look good against your face, they frequently cast ugly shadows across your face in the wrong lighting. They also distract from your gaze and distort the appearance of your eyes slightly.
Also, they make it hard for you to look out of the corner of your eye, to communicate with glances, and to rely on peripheral vision. You end up turning your head more frequently and directly, which communicates a bit differently than being able to glance.

Hard to say, I know that race plays a role in it too. Black guy in glasses is seen as cute but an indian or asian in glasses is seen as a nerd.

I quite like girls with glasses so I'd say it's a matter of personal preference. Yeah I agree with most, SMV neutral.

It's faulty logic to assume that because you find something neutral, attractive, or unattractive on a woman that she will think the same of a man.
Men and women are different, and what you find attractive in them is in many ways opposite of what they find attractive in you.
exactly, I love women with glasses, but it just don't say anything how women love glasses on men
