They are just removing themselves from the marketplace
From the beginning people were wondering if it was a bunch of larping men trolling because there was so much sabotaging advice.
Then again, it gets people hooked because like with any good indoctrination they will have nuggets of truth here and there that some women need to hear, like how they need to watch out for thinking through their tingles alone. Of course then that gets perverted into "fuck whoever you want in the name of girl power, just look for MORE than tingles when you 'settle' into a LTR."
Promoting AF/AB is cool when it works, but spoils women when it doesn't.
Edit: tons of stuff.

Or semi-happily. 😉
That word (incel) isn't used accurately by many people at all, but rather as a convenient label to say "this man said something bad about women, and I want what he says to be dismissed out of hand rather than address his concerns".

But let me put it this way - as long as this sub isn’t looking to arrange any “day trips” in the coming week and a half I think it will be fine
[–]DemianskyJr. Hamster Analyst5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Yeah, I agree here. Even the most extreme kind of rhetoric I've ever seen here pales in comparison to what I've seen recently in places like Parlor or thedonald (.win). As long as every other thread doesn't pertain to hanging Mike Pence complete with thousands of upvotes, then WAATGM is probably fine.
Not to mention WAATGM has quite a few liberals, moderates, and is quite racially diverse. Redpill notions are pretty mainstream at this point.
[–]Roomwar8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Your opinion doesn't have to be extreme to be banned, just what other people deem wrong. Have you not seen that at all in the past year?
[–]DemianskyJr. Hamster Analyst1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Well, I did get banned from Purple Pill Debate for saying that male depression is a serious societal problem, lol. But yes, I've seen some unfair deplatforming and banning. So Dave Rubin and Jordan Peterson are good examples. This was also the whole MeToo movement's lynch mob mentality, where anyone who gets accused must be guilty. But the spate of deplatforming right now is obviously very, very different than "u sexist go away," and I find myself very saddened by the fact that I'm okay with it. I know that quite a few "unfair" bannings will occur as a side effect as well, but I think it's being overblown (I think WAATGM will probably be fine).
The deletion of Trump's Twitter account, Facebook account, and deplatforming of Parlor are pretty straightforward and mostly divorced from the cancel culture detailed above. If Mike Pence and AOC end up drawn and quartered by a bunch of lunatics who believe that the deep state pedophilia cabal stole the election from Donald Trump--- and who openly plotted on said platforms and egged each other on on said platforms--- that's not going to be a good look for these tech giants at a time when the left and the right want to sue the crap out of them and break them up. So yeah, it feels like apples and oranges to me. Maybe they are both fruits, but very different fruits.
[–]Roomwar1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
All I was trying to convey was a general example, a hypothetical of what the fabulous people over at AHS could potentially try to paint this place as to the site admins. Misogyny is probably the easiest way to get negative attention from the internet mob. You know there have been plenty of mass bans in the past few years and the admins don't really need much of a reason anymore.
People are so conditioned to react rather than think about what is going on. Considering reddit is full of people looking for good boy points it will be a matter of time before this place is gone. Your opinion doesn't have to be extreme to be seen as wrong on social media. Hell, an opinion can't even be nuanced anymore for most people.
This mass banning will go far beyond the internet and it will be in everyday life. It's happening all over the place. Of course, you already knew that since you are paying attention. Why do you think things will be different after Trump is gone?
Sorry to essay post at you, and you probably think I am a schizo, but it is going to get a lot worse for everyone.

Can't have a bad marriage ending in divorce if you don't get married in the first place.
[–]Ragnarok31415937 points38 points39 points 3 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
I have attempted to share this in subtle ways, but there is no gain to marriage whatsoever.
Everything you can do that is seen as positive in marriage can be done outside of a marriage. There is no need for a contract binding you together. Kids? Home ownership? Entering loans together? All can be done outside of marriage.
What marriage does is socially lock you down to where you cannot simply leave when things get bad. Wife suddenly decides to show her true self as a raging narcissist and you are married? Guess what, you are trapped.
Don’t get married. There is nothing to be gained.
[–]DemianskyJr. Hamster Analyst36 points37 points38 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
As someone who has been happily married for 20 years, I still think you are basically 95 percent right... which says something about our society's incentive structures. Who is going to want to commit to marriage in the future if it is literally nothing but liabilities?
The only 5 percent I would dissent is that the "locked in to marriage" aspect can have some positive effects in some cases. It means you can't just give up and duck out on your family as easily. It's like Ceasars burning his own fleet so that his soldiers are forced to stand and fight to the death. I know some married couples that were coerced into working things out due to the fact of being married when they could have just dodged, and things settled down and their marriages are fine. But of course I've seen plenty of the flipside, which if we were to continue with the analogy, would be the equivalent of the ocean running run with the blood of 2 massacred Roman Legions who has no escape even when the battle was hopeless.
[–]Ragnarok31415919 points20 points21 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I concede to several of your points, and absolutes should be avoided in conversations.
I have a few friends that are in your situation where they genuinely love their wife and are loved and cared for. They have their ups and downs, but in the end of the day neither one feels regret about marrying the other even after having children.
My own experiences with a truly awful and emotionally abusive spouse cloud my judgement. She hid her narcissism behind a veil which came off when the wedding bands settled on, and the whole marriage became unbearable. Granted, nothing she did would fall into the legal definition of abuse. It was all emotional and constant gas lighting. The two things that made me really realize what the situation had become was using coping mechanisms from SERE school and that a friend of mine set me up on a date with her single friend. She had just assumed I was a single dad since not once did I mention my spouse in the three years prior.
Had we not been married, I would have gotten my own apartment and come over to see my kids as much as possible. Being trapped with her was awful and she drove me to the brink.
[–]DemianskyJr. Hamster Analyst6 points7 points8 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I'm really sorry to hear that, man. How long were you together before you tied the knot? I honest to goodness believe that if someone does get married, they should be together for upwards of five years beforehand. Anything short of that really doesn't give you a chance to understand their true character. It seems like somewhere in that 5 years, the mask has gotta slip.
But of course, I think its absolutely true that many women see the coercive power of marriage as an excuse to stop trying. Why put in the effort if you know you don't have to?
[–]Ragnarok3141599 points10 points11 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Lives together for close to three years, together for maybe five.
People need to deal with unfun things that don’t bring you closer together in order to see what that person is really like.
[–]DemianskyJr. Hamster Analyst5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I think also there's the chance that they can "recalculate" whether they still consider you an ideal mate, and if they don't, you can probably expect behavioral changes. Less patience, more emotional aggression, etc.
[–]OverkillengineCasts Pearls to the Swine4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
But of course I've seen plenty of the flipside, which if we were to continue with the analogy, would be the equivalent of the ocean running run with the blood of 2 massacred Roman Legions who has no escape even when the battle was hopeless.
It's always important to consider the failure state when doing risk assessments. So many bright eyed optimists only see "but what if everything goes right" while ignoring that it's not about that, it's about the cost when they do not go right....and if you can bear that cost.
Much like a game of Russian Roulette; you can focus on the prize for winning too much, and forget that the issue is if you lose, you blow your brains out.

crazy thot looking for beta
I’m a lot younger than most guys giving advice here, but this sort of idea is something I’ve been thinking about for a while. Throughout middle and high school, I really wanted to hang out with the hot, “liberated” sex-crazed clique of girls and the few guys they’d hang out with. I simped really hard for one of those girls, too. The leader of that little clique was nice to me at first, but she’d always get angry at me whenever we had political debates. Pretty hardcore feminist, in both senses of the word.
I eventually came to understand that trying to join that clique in a pursuit of easy sex, as an introverted teen, was an impossible idea. I would just never be accepted as I am by those sorts of people. So, here’s my advice: don’t be warped by a coomer society. Stay firm in your beliefs. Don’t become a doormat to some sex-crazed chick only because you’re sex deprived.
In Aldous Huxley’s wonderful novel Brave New World, which in some senses might’ve even been more prophetic than 1984, the population is kept happy by a drug called soma, and a sex-free lifestyle (“everyone belongs to everyone” is a terrifyingly accurate quote). Don’t let that happen.

Great book, and excellent reference. I made my kids read that book all before they hit High School. And we talk about these things.
You seem to be ahead of the curve. Keep being strong like this. You are doing the right thing.
Rejecting a woman's attempt at using you is NOT sexist. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Thanks. It’s one of my all-time favourites. I’ve been spending these last few years trying to find myself and be firmer in my beliefs, and reading it did wonders. Of course, experience is the best teacher in that regard.
Rejecting a woman’s attempt at using you is NOT sexist.
That is probably the most powerful weapon in the culture war: the Overton window. Ideologues will shift it, and most of culture in itself, to utterly crush and cripple dissent. We can’t be their guinea pigs. We’re all better than that.
