I host a weekly bonfire in a park (thanks, covid). As a result, I start two fires a week, every week. Also, I'm 43 years old and I've been camping for my entire life.

With these fires, I have been using balled-up newspaper and a log-cabin build. Why? Who fucking cares. It works and it's easy and it's my choice. The fire lights. It's fast. I have newspaper.

This week, as I was delegating tasks (keep in mind I own the fire pits, host a WEEKLY BONFIRE, bought the wood, food, etc), I asked some numbnuts to ball paper for me.

Response: "that's not how you build a fire, let me show you"

Then it deteriorated into me calling him out on mansplaining, him denying it, me explaining what mansplaining is, him saying it wasn't his intent, me explaining that it was clearly his intent etc. etc.

The other great mansplaining event of my life was landing in Vienna Airport, dressed in FULL CYCLING KIT, carrying ONLY CYCLING BAGS, holding a bag of tools in my hand, waiting for the baggage area to give me my partially assembled bicycle.

Random idiot: swoops in from nowhere, in normal clothing with no tools, asks me if I want him to do it for me, show me how to do it.

Now to this day, I sort of regret declining his offer, because it was about 40 degrees Celcius in the airport that day and I needed to pump up the tires with a minipump... but holy shit... I probably know what I'm doing if I just flew on a plane in cycling shoes and clothes, WITH A BICYCLE

What are your great mansplaining incidents?
