Semi-relevant to the posting: When i was younger I always thought banned books and censorship of speech only existed in dictatorships. Through systemic erasure of certain types of literature, we have effective censure. Also, I flipped to a random page of the text. I really hope her work is taught in sociology courses.
I also find it interesting that on her Wikipedia page, this book isn't listed in the "selected works" section despite (1) the book being over 300 pages, and (2) pornography being her area of expertise. I wonder if we can work on completing that section of her wiki to ensure others know this text exists.
