Regardless, there is a fine line between "mate guarding insecure faggot" and "present, aware and masculine husband" when dealing with these things. If there is truly no offense taking place, then you should react the same way you'd act if your wife were chatting with a woman: introduce yourself to your wife's new friend while they're talking, authentically and without jealousy or anger. A word of warning, though: if you're not able to do this naturally, you will come across as an insecure mate guarding faggot, in which case you'd have been better off doing nothing at all (stfu).

If you're threatened at all by some random guy hitting on your wife then you definitely aren't in your own frame. I've never seen any guy hitting on my wife as a threat, and I really don't give a fuck about any guy's intentions. I trust my wife to ignore any advances, and if she doesn't then I now know that something's wrong that I either need to fix, or that I just need to move on.

You need to understand the difference between harmelss banter and actual flirt
You need to understand when it is a shit test and when it is not
You need to understand her cues and reactions.

I am no red pilled and this is not red pill specific advise.

But, when a guy is flirting with your LTR in front of you, you need to know where the boundary is and only care if that boundary is crossed.

By boundary I mean that sometimes random banter can be perceived as flirting by the insecure male.

Now, if that boundary is crossed, read your LTRs cues. There were times when my LTR was being flirted on while in a group setting (when I was talking to another girl but paying attention to the guy she was talking to as well) and as soon as I noticed him crossing a line my LTR just grabbed my hand and moved it on her leg showing subtly to the guy to back off. There are obviously cases where the guy does not back off (too dumb or he doesn't care). In those cases you may need to intervene, but not by mate guarding.

It's easy to push back a dude by talking to him about the subject he is talking about and shift focus from her to the subject. Or simply by responding to your LTRs cues and giving back (e.g. took my hand and put her on her leg, I caress her leg and give her a kiss).

Again, follow her cues

If she is actively engaging the dude and his flirting then do you really want to mate guard? She either is shit testing you, or actively interested in the other dude and enjoying his flirting. Either way, you should not intervene. Either let her go with the dude (as if you mate guard now, you will have to mate guard every damn time, that is no life brother) or she is shit testing your insecurities, which again, you shouldn't be having any. Yeah, you don't want to lose your LTR, that's why she is an LTR, but if you lose her, you move on, that's it
