How do you personally stay motivated to read the bible?

If you're struggling with reading the Bible regularly, then I'd recommend some sort of strategy in place like this for you...

Every time you want to post something on reddit, go read your Bible for 10 minutes. From looking at your post history OP - you could read the entire NT in a day and a half most likely.

There's your problem. Motivation comes and goes.

Habits and discipline are what you need.

If something is good for you especially of eternal value, then do it everyday.

One thing that has helped me is getting on a Bible reading plan. I don't want to fall behind on the plan, so I have to read every day.

If you're engaging in active soul winning and proselytization of the faith you're going to end up inhaling large swaths of the Bible each day because people are going to need answers or want to debate you, this forces you to know your business.

Apart from that I use the YouVersion and always keep it on a 1 year full Bible plan, and just knock out a couple of chapters each day.

I stay motivated by:

Making it a habit (committing to read it each day, being a man of my word and doing it)
Prioritising it (one of the first things I do each day)
Reminding myself how good it is to read it and pray (I never regret it afterwards)
Being in a church that values the Bible and a weekly Bible study that studies the Bible (so I am learning how to read it better on my own).
Looking after my body (enough sleep, right food, exercise) so I have the energy and discipline to do it (build one habit and it's easier to build another).

My wife and I started a Bible reading plan on the YouVersion app. I found having that accountability helps to reinforce the habit. Find someone to read with and keep each other on track.
