Disclaimer: If you are young and single, then having a more muscular body will definitely improve your SMV (sexual market value) but I'm already married and I have a very low chance of divorce or death-of-spouse. This thread only applies to married men in their 30's 40's and 50's!

I have a below-average life (in terms of "success") but I'm very happy and I read the bible 30 minutes per day and have recently began uploading my bible-reading to youtube. I feel like the worst mistake a Christian can make is over-estimating their chances of entering heaven when they die -- why am I the only Christian who realizes that it is God who makes the determination of whether we accept Jesus into our hearts?

I feel much more at peace since my 2 uploads to youtube of bible-reading because I feel like the extra effort will not go unnoticed by God and I also feel like it's extremely silly to spend hours every week at the gym when all that muscle will disappear forever in heaven (or hell).

That is my first upload of reading the bible and one of my life goals is to read the ENTIRE bible and have it uploaded to youtube as playlist because that will distinguish me from other Christians who are also trying to convince God that they have accepted the gift of salvation and that Jesus died for our sins and paid the ultimate price for our character flaws. Only Jesus walked the earth and was perfect.

Let's assume heaven is real and everyone who reads this thread will enter heaven.

  1. Looking back 100,000 years from now -- will everyone agree with me on my reddit thread today that the hours wasted at the gym to make our earthly body look more muscular is extremely short sighted when you take into account how long "forever" is?
  2. Reading the bible is painfully difficult especially when you force yourself to do it when you're not in the mood -- just like going to the gym after being lazy for 6 months or even a year. Obviously reading the bible is important but how much more important is reading the bible than going to the gym?
  3. Once we're dead and gone -- all that's left is what we leave behind.

I'm in my mid-to-late 30's and feel like since I'm already married, I have less incentive to have a "Chad-like physique" and the most important 2 things I should care about is saving for retirement (lean-fire) and ensuring that my name is written in the lamb's book of life! I only began reading the bible daily 2 months ago and only started forcing myself to record the bible-readings a few days ago.

Already, I feel like my life is more meaningful and I feel like a better Christian! It's only been a few weeks of bible-reading and I've only read Matthew, Proverbs, and Romans. (I read each book multiple times then I watch the youtube summary like this one)

Lastly, I will pray for this community:

Dear God,

Please watch over the members of the RPC community and subreddit. Please speak to their hearts and watch over everyone and keep their lives in accordance with your will.

In Jesus name we pray,

Amen!
