Bitcoin a good starting option to have money 'aside' in marriage?

I'm just starting to consider keeping my savings account smaller and wanted to begin putting money elsewhere. Anyone married and knowledgeable in divorce/asset management know if bitcoin is a good place to start? Married in Eurozone. Open to other options but I don't think I make enough for trusts or more expensive and overly complicated options.

I'm assuming you're talking 'aside' as in hiding assets, not 'aside' as in diversification of your portfolio.

They will find your assets. Owning BTC is not enough to protect you.

If you do, buy with cash using localbitcoins page and never tell amyone you have them.

If you use bank transfer to buy bitcoins, the trail is there and they'll know you've bought them. Remember that Bitcoin is pseudo-anonymous, not anonymous (if you don't know what this means search for it and understand it to know when you are anonymous and not using Bitcoin).

Thank you for this info! Looking into this in my area.

Agree with /u/bicepsblastingstud

If you are looking for diversification, my recommendation would be gold and silver due to the structural faults with the Eurozone and US economies at the moment.

The potential is you buy them through an intermediary and squirrel it away someplace they cannot easily find. Safe deposit boxes opened under the intermediaries name, with the key hidden elsewhere. Not an ideal solution as you shed wealth in creating those safe havens and they will find it. The value to them is too great.

Keeping money from your wife aside, bitcoin is a TERRIBLE investment. It could become worthless over night and does not make consistent gains like you would get in the stock or bond market. There are probably much better ways to hide that money like foreign investments or cash locked in a safe somewhere for that matter.

Im thinking about the safe.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
