The red pill is a term appropriated by the manosphere to describe "the truth about intersexual dynamics". Aka what women really want, and really are. Term adopted for the sub discussing this topic.

By opposition to the concept, the manosphere used the term "the blue pill" to describe the state of NOT knowing the truth about intersexual dynamics. Aka, regular people, especially those who believe what women say, or what feminism says it is about. A sub to make fun of the red pill sub adopted this name. This does not mean they believe themselves to be deluded of course. It's just for the lulz.

The purple pill debate sub is for redpill people and non-redpill people to discuss and debate the validity or not of the red pill ideas. But Rollo Tomassi uses the term to describe people who know about red pill ideas, but don't want to embrace them all because they're too ego invested in their prior blue pill dreams and delusions. Aka "I know AWALT and I know hypergamy, but I am sure my girl is different".
