Hypergamy isn't solely based on wealth. It also considers physical appearance/genetics, social proof/status and overall competence.

Sure you might see gold diggers marry ugly rich dudes that will take care of them and their kids. But chances are that she would be willing to cheat with a poorer but hotter looking dude (stereotypical pool boy analogy). Wealth is a factor but it is far more complex than that.

The harsh truth is that you need to have more than satisfactory ability in almost all aspects to keep women attracted these days. Just having a decent job and being nice to the kids and in-laws doesn't cut it anymore. Women are more independent than ever, have more validation then ever, so they essentially don't need most of us. A woman will only genuinely want a man that she "feels" is better than her in multiple ways. They have always been hypergamous, but our current social environment has made it far more challenging. That is why there are so many confused and frustrated men that have no clue why they are such losers with women.

Wealth, status, looks etc. they all go together.

Also, if a woman has low self esteem, she may think that troll that makes $10 an hour is as good as she can do.

So, just because you may see an attractive woman with some loser, that just tells you how fucked up she must be mentally.

There’s no way around it dude. No amount of denials or rationalizing or holding on to the belief that not all women are like that. THEY ARE. Stop looking for hand jobs from street people, and go get a haircut from somewhere better than great clips, upgrade your wardrobe, get to the gym, focus are your career and be a leader. Even if you are short, bald and ugly, there are things you can do to improve your SMV. Stop looking for excuses to be a lazy fuck.

Just because women see other men as better, doesn’t mean they will leave you or even cheat for another man.

In my opinion, any woman, man, or human can have temptations, but well developed people won’t act on those temptations...

First, you clearly have no idea what hypergamy means. There are two sides to hypergamy: Alpha Fucks and Beta Bucks. You only see the Beta Bucks side (wealth/resource provisioning).

There would be so many breakups and divorces if this was true.

What are you, living under a rock? Half of marriages end in divorce, and surveys show that most of the other half are, at best, only somewhat satisfying for the woman. There aren't many marriages where both partners can honestly say they're truly satisfied, sexually and otherwise.

All women use hypergamy, the only difference is how "adult" they are in dealing with it when it comes to moving on, some will flake on you showing they have no respect for you and others if the the relationship is coming to an end will do it face to face and try to leave on good terms, I've experienced both.

Some girls will dump a high value guy to go fuck other low value guys simply because she loses feelings for the high value guy. Too controlling, too demanding, too emotional vulnerable, whatever. Could be a number of different reasons.

But it happens all the time. Girls sometimes chose the guy who will ensure that they end up working minimum wage jobs and live crappy lives forever. Or at least she'll fuck him for a while and then move to another guy on a similar rung of the ladder.

There are higher value guys as potential options who females reject all the time. Sometimes they just don't have feelings for them, for whatever legitimate or dumb reason. My ex, for example, will never get with another guy as high value as me. I showed weakness and made mistakes when we were together, which is why she left me, and that makes sense. But she's way in over her head with what she thinks are her options. The handful of guys she's gotten with since me are all much lower in the hierarchy than me, and I'm constantly improving while they are content where they are. Years down the road I guarantee you my ex will regret leaving me when she finds out she will never get a guy better than me in the long run.
