Do men really have power as the gatekeepers of commitment?

Most woman, I think, would see being with just one man as tying them down, and inhibiting their ability to ride the carousel. Unless they're post wall, I don't think any of them are actually looking for commitment, which means that we don't hold any power in that. Do we? (These are just my thoughts on the matter I'm asking if anyone can explain how this power is useful and how to harness it.)

Make yourself into a higher quality man, then see how they chase.

Very true.

First, a thought experiment. You don't see women hitting the wall and wishing they could be set free. The exact opposite; the single ladies go on the hunt for commitment from a man. They ache for commitment.

Second, it's absurd how a slut will all of a sudden try to girl-game you into commitment once they perceive how high-value you are.

Actually, you see a ton of wives divorcing and cashing in on alimony and child support. It's short sighted, in that they don't consider retirement, but it is epidemic.

Very true, it's hard to maintain your position of power when you completely give away your commitment to a woman through marriage. I'd prefer to think that these wives have husbands who are inherently beta.

It depends if you have assets.

If you have a decent job and a nice house... of course, you're the gateway to a woman having a nice life.

inhibiting their ability to ride the carousel.

Of course some women are too stupid / short-sighted to understand the value of this... but just next those idiots.

Some men are attractive enough women want to stick to them. You can cure that by putting a ring on her finger, then she knows you're whipped.

High SMV, alpha, driven, ambitious, educated men have the potential to have the world at their fingertips.

The SMV allowing you to be a gatekeeper of an LTR is just one facet of the many powers an accomplished man has.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
