Just depends on your style. If you give a girl your number and they bother to text, it’s easy to close, but not that many follow through even if they are interested. By getting her number you are able to take control of the situation, but you will have more flakes.

It all depends on the situation if you are approaching in any type of way or you initiated the convo then always take her number because chances are you will need to initiate over text as well.

However if she initiates the convo I always give her my number every time because 1)if she has the guts to initiate in person she wont have a problem over text 2) Giving her your number actually give you all the control really some might say she has all the control but really you do in my eyes.

I hand over my phone and ask them to punch the number in. I'll then call them on the spot so that they'll get my number .. and verify their number at the same time. This way works both ways. I am not always following-up (let's say that's due to abundance), so I also provide them an opportunity to do something.

I will counter and argue that giving her your number shows far more confidence.....and that if she is actually interested.....she WILL contact you.

I almost always offer my number these days.... instead of asking for hers. Put the ball in her court......then come from a position of strength.

Getting her contact info definitely gives you the power of initiating things. BUT, many guys are bad at initiating things and handling that beginning, me in the past included, so part of me actually likes just giving my number and that way I can’t fuck much up. If she is interested she’ll contact me; if not then I don’t waste my time.

Recently I gave my number to a girl in the weirdest of circumstances... she hit a deer and I was driving behind her so I stopped. My friend actually said I should give her my number for witness purposes, but the girl texted me later that night telling me I was hot and she was dtf.

So, giving your number has a certain mysterious advantage to it.

I typically always give her my number.

I put everything on her to reach out and for the most part set dates. Dating isn't the numbers game that PUA's will have you believe. A lot of it is sitting back and letting the girls who want to fuck you find a way to fuck you.
