For the first time in my life (I'm 31), I have my very own place! I'm more stoked about it than I can really put into words, and it's prompted some real changes.

Now initially, I was thinking "it's an apartment, I should probably decorate it like it's an apartment". Couch, eventually a TV, just standard shit. I mean, I'm 31, my place should look like someone who has their shit together lives there, right?

On the other hand, I have a full cage power rack and 300 lbs of weights, plus a bench, that I'm not really sure "fits" a normal apartment. Which prompted the thought that, maybe I should scrap the idea of a "normal apartment" entirely, and just make my place a place totally dedicated to self-improvement?

I'm already learning to cook healthier, but I could have my weight bench and power rack totally set up, throw down a power rack, and still have space for a desk so I can work from home (or play games) as needed.

That would still leave the bedroom as a space I could try and keep a little more "mature" and less "bachelor pad". I'm firmly against putting a TV in the bedroom, but then I don't really watch TV anyways.

But maybe I'm just going super overboard with all this thinking, and should just get rid of the weights and cage, just look into taking out a gym membership somewhere, and focus on making my apartment a place that's a little more welcoming of guests (admittedly, the place has a pretty amazing view).
