My dad has a habit of constantly dropping zingers (defined as "witty, often caustic remarks"). The problem is that, if I respond in the same way, I've become the same as him. Alternatively, I can go on a tirade explaining why zingers are bad for any kind of conversation, at the end of which he — drops another zinger. How would you deal with this?
