I've been raised by child abusing parents. One of the consequences of that is I never received emotional support. I always had food to eat and a place to sleep (except that one time in winter when I had to sleep on the streets with only a tee on my back) but I never had emotional support. On the contrary, each time shit hit the fan, each time I was met by difficulties, I would be put down even more. They added to the burden.
As a result, I drift through life seeking the emotional support/the parents I never had. This is a recipe for disaster since it develops into one-itis everytime. My question is the following: when times are tough, how can I get emotional support as a heterosexual white male?
