I'm putting in the work to become attractive -- lifting and losing weight -- but I wonder if that alone is really enough to become "sexy"?

Generally speaking, I'm pretty good with people, but I also have a tendency to be way too "platonic". If I'm tipsy, I might work in the occasional playful remark, but I really don't know how to escalate, to come across "sexy", I guess.

Like... aside from just being stupid drunk, I've never been able to translate from "having a good time talking and joking around" with a girl, to actually moving onto making out, sexy, anything.

This may sound borderline retarded, but it's something I genuinely don't understand. For me, it's like reading a book, but several important pages are missing, and I don't know how to get from "fun conversation" to "the bedroom".

Like... do you just make increasingly sexual innuendos? Do you slowly become more physical, touching her elbow or hand during conversation? Hell, is there ever a point you just say "Let's go back to my place"? I'm legit clueless here.
