I know there's no need to argue with feminists, and when I just hear one or two statements I brush it off, but when someone starts really getting in the topic I just can't shut up.
I can't help entering the argument and, although I always keep calm and maintain frame (which obviosuly my oponnent rarely do), it drains me out and infuriates me inside most of the time.
What I despise the most is having this conversation with guys, because they suddenly act so bitchy and feminine. At least when confronting a women to her logical fallacies, there's this "natural" asymmetry of her being all emotional and me keeping calm and putting forward logic as a man should.
Even friends or family with whom I never had an heated argument in years suddenly become so stupid and irrational.
I know the best advice would be to stay away from this kind of people, unfortunately I work in a field where this stuff is omnipresent.
How do you deal with this ? Is it not a matter of self-respect to say the truth when people try and confront you with lies ?
