I thought it was time to take poetry back for men! So please enjoy my poem

Whippoorwill on the Wind By Kenny D.

A gentle breeze blows Upon it's wafting wisps I taste a faint remnant of the desperate cries of the midnight seagull.

And I remember her.

I reach down. Between my fingers is the supple stem of a blossoming daffodil.

I pluck it, severing it from its earthly home.

But I shall shed no tears for it. I shed only a single tear, for myself.

My innocence is now a remnant on the wind. The whippoorwill's song show be the path home.

Is this my first step? Or do I take it tomorrow?
