First off, I'm not really asking the question "to manscape or not to manscape", that actually isn't the question, though feel free to answer that to.

I'm actually interested in discussing it as a phenomenon, why people do it, what it's purpose really is and who it's proponents are.

I'm also interested in getting your feedback on my theory that instead of deriving from body building culture, it's more akin to the feminization of men (think of the social aversion to beards and how feminazis want men to shave and men who shave and under female control also want men who have facial hair to shave).

I know there is going to be some clean shaven guy who comes on and says he just prefers it or facial hair itches or something, but that he's not shaving cuz a woman tells him to. My theory is that our culture has so robbed men of their masculinity that men who think they prefer shaving do do because they're culturally programmed to.

What do you all think?
