In a psychology class right now, and we are studying narcissism.

Narcissism seems to get a bad rap. At worst the person thinks highly of themselves, but compared to sociopaths/psychopaths (dark triads), they dont inflict harm on anyone, at worst maybe shorter on the empathy scale.

Also most famous people and successful people share this belief of thinking very highly of themselves, which is why they are successful to begin with, because their mind believed it and if they themselves believe they are superior than everyone else will see it to.

Anyways, it also said narcissists are attractive, charming, etc. Again, all positive traits - no wonder we say Dark Triad men pull the most pussy.

Also says narcissists associate with "high status" people.. whats wrong with that? Surrounding yourelf with great people is very important to your growth.

Anyways why does narcissism get a bad rap from society? Is it because the elites, who are also narcissists, want the sheep to not become one of them? (kinda deep)

It seems that every trait of a narcissist is 90% good for success.. the 10% being questionably bad. All humans have good and bad behaviors. What makes lower empathy and grandiose self esteem so bad? Some people are violent, some are thieves, etc.. but somehow grandiose self esteem and lower empathy is very demonized in our society.

Also safe to say that it seems most people on social media display "narcissism" and yea we make fun of it here, but that just means that 'narcissistic traits' are displayed on social media because humans are attracted to it innately, hence why most people gravitate towards it.

All the greatest athletes, politicians, greatest men who made a difference in our world seemed to share narcissistic traits. Narcissism is linked to power as well...
