Don't do any of that, BTW. It's a cold open in a familiar place. Ask a question, make an observation, introduce yourself. You're both shopping, so there's common ground. Get a date or a number. Then bail, you've got shopping to do, remember? So you have no fear of awkward silences or the feeling you're overstaying your welcome.

Last girl was getting beyond meat patties. I asked “hey have you tried the impossible burger? I tried that and I was wondering if the beyond meat burger was as good?”

The girl was vegan (big surprise) so it turned into a 15 min convo about veganism and then exchange contact.

TL;DR vegan girls love to talk about being vegan... get them started and you have a nice long ass conversation to do your thing.
