Depends on your definition of beta bait. If you tell her "I loved my ex so much! I bought her flowers every week!" she'll think of you as a needy fool, but saying things like "I can imagine being in a LTR if I find the right girl" could make her want to qualify and try extra hard to be your "right girl".

I had this work once but it was a very special case.

She was crazy and only 19 and looking for her "first real boyfriend" but moving abroad in 5 months.

We had a very long and talkative first date and I talked about reluctantly breaking up with my wholesome unicorn ex because she was a virgin and not putting out (saying I wasn't ready for that commitment yet).
