Turning 18 tomorrow, need some career advice.

So background to who I am,

Im 17 turning 18, two weeks away from graduation and I really want to move out, the people I live with right now cramp my mental state to the extreme.

One of these people is my father, who just so happens to own a moving company, one of the best in my city. He wants me to do moving full time as soon as i graduate, not just part time. This would put me ahead at roughly 1500 a week not including tips, which is more than enough to move out.

But, I graduate with a certificate in electronics, due to me working my ass off the past two years in a trade school program alongside high school. Through said program, I interned at a job site, and got offered employment.

Listen, I love this job, I can work on a circuit board all day, the company is awesome and friendly, I already have more knowledge than most of the workers, but here's the catch. They offered me about a dollar more than minimum wage to work there, 9-5, 5 days a week.

I was a little uneasy when they first shot me this price, and they said that there's a high chance for growth within the company, and people are making "over 6 figures" after a few years of experience.

The Electronics job would be more stable and less stress physically and mentally, but a severe cut in pay and the goal of moving out seems a whole lot farther away.

Any advice on what I should do?

If you want the electronics job do that. Tell your dad that this is what you want to do long term and that you think it offers a better path for advancement.

Work for your dad on the weekends. Hustle while you’re young and stack some money. Consider getting your associates to further your career, especially if your job offers any form of tuition assistance.

A few times in my career I've taken the lower paying job with my eye on the long distance prize. It has always worked for me. At your age you've got time on your side. Take the job you are gonna enjoy which is gonna bear more fruit down the line.

A dollar More than minimum wage? Youre only considering it bc you’re young and have minimal responsibilities. The smart thing to do is grind out the moving job and save all the money. Don’t waste your time making minimum wage. It’s work, not a hobby

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
