This may be a little bit of a rant, sorry in advance. I'm a 24 yo guy, and while i'll admit that I am a bit of an introvert, i generally know how to talk to people, hold eye contact, have a normal conversation etc. I have worked service jobs for many years, and I drive and mentor for Lyft in addition to my full time job, so i'm good at small talk and figuring out what to talk about with people I have never met.

What ive been noticing the last couple years- when I go to parties, half of the people there literally can't hold a conversation. If you try to engage them, theyll just say random shit or jokes that aren't really funny instead of responding to what you say, and everything they do just seems random and uncalculated. It is the same thing at both of my jobs- You have to really struggle to keep conversations going a lot of the time, people just don't seem to know what to say. Also, when I go out to eat, i'll see many tables where the people are snap chatting where they are, or taking pictures, but hardly talking to one another. Has anyone else noticed how social skills are deteriorating?
