Working out splits 7 days vs full body 3 days

What’s the difference and why is the 3 day one recommended more? I’m trying to more weight but still keep my muscle so I don’t see why I wouldn’t just do splits.

Also any other weight loss tips if you got any. Keto helped me a lot. Gonna add cardio

Edit: also I’m not a beginner. I’ve lifted for years but I definitely haven’t achieved peak potential

Personal preference. I like splitting my workouts because I feel like I hit the muscles harder that way. Also don't do splits or any workout routine for 7 days a week, do 6 days a week max unless you take steroids. Then you can workout 2 times a day.

I meant 6 days my fault. The reason I ask is because when I got into lifting about 3 years ago this guy basically gave me a 6 day split where I hit each body part twice a week.

I just want to get bigger since I’ve been lifting on and off the past few months. I like the split but I see different on here

Yes I do exactly the same workout routine. Do this: Monday: Back biceps T: Chest triceps shoulder W: Legs Six-packs then rest then repeat. it is the best in my fitness experience of 2.5 years.

A lot of what you see on here is for beginners. Anything basic will work for them if they put in effort. As you get more advanced, you need to structure your training with more particularity, incorporating things that work and avoiding things that don't. There are various ways to structure splits. A 6 day split hitting each body part twice a week is fairly standard for bodybuilding. Give it a shot.

If you want to get bigger, lift heavy 3 or 4 times a week. Do a full body workout with plenty of volume. That way your hitting all muscles 3 or more time a week. Also, muscles aren’t built in the gym. Recovery and diet are more important than gym time.

I’m trying to lift and lose some weight though. Gonna watch diet and lift and run

Should’ve probably. And yeah I thought that too. Too much for one day

I do a 6 day workout, each muscle group twice a week. Eating and recovery are more important ime as I never ate enough to really add muscle until recently

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
