What would you like to improve or get better at?

I am putting together an idea, something to aim at, and a place to share useful knowledge and experience (only YouTube at the moment but the website will be done by end of the year as well), that will put focus on pursuing excellence with the goal of serving others.

Since it will be built from a man's perspective, I am curious to know what topics would be interesting for you, the men reading this.

Currently, I am focusing on sharing ideas about fundamental principles that every man should embody (having a good character, keeping your word, having integrity, building good habits, and so on), but with time the themes will vary a bit more.

I have a background in sports and nutrition (20+ years in track&field, football, and powerlifting/weightlifting), engineering and IT (10+ years), management, and time management (15 years) and I am also married for more than a decade. I will put my knowledge and experience in the service of this idea and I would like to ask you, what topics would be interesting for you.

Let me know what kind of topics would you like to learn about and what are you trying to improve in your own life so that I can do my best to share my knowledge with you.

All the best to you!

It seems like discipline and self control are the hardest, and most harmful things for a lot of young men to overcome.

Thank you for taking the time to give an answer. I agree with what you say, but it would be interesting to know in which areas discipline and self-control are an issue so that the problems can be tackled specifically and not just in a general form.

It is good to be aware of the principles of discipline and self-control and why these elements will bring a lot of benefits in someone's life, but it is also important to know how to apply these principles with practical examples specifically tailored for the problematic areas.

Feel free to share some points of view if you think someone might benefit from them.

Thank you again for your time.

All the best to you!

Id like to be able to make real connections with people easier and drink less. Id also like to be less tempted by drugs.

Knowing how to be happy would be a big plus. Im not a young man btw. These are things im struggling with in my 30's. I partied as hard as I could from 18 until about 3 years ago. I really thought id go to bed one day and never wake up. I didnt plan on a future. Now Im trying to make sense of my life and I dont know where to find meaning.

Dont hurt people along the way when you are being a nihilist. If you have any kind it heart of will haunt you. Learn that there is a future. It is shaped by who you are when youre young. Im wasted potential and I know it. Dont do what I did.

I appreciate you sharing your challenges. It is admirable that you made 3 years ago a decision to change. I can only imagine that this is not an easy task.

Addictions are hard to overcome since you will need to create on one hand new habits that will in time overwrite the old habits that lure you to your addictions and on the other hand you need to clear your system from the harmful substances that do the same thing. But it is not impossible. It is a mental and physical thing and you can have a lot of influence in both.

Even if you wasted some years on things that you now see as useless, you still have enough time to better yourself and become the kind of man that you would admire. All experiences will play a role at some point in your life.

Regarding meaning, I think meaning cannot be found, but it can be created. It can be created by you. Try to analyze yourself and figure out what skills and inclinations you have. Invest time and get better in these areas, and put your skills to use for someone else. The more experienced you will become in your chosen area of expertise the more you will spot failures or shortcomings in the processes that you are using to solve issues in this area.

Since at this point you also have a lot of knowledge and experience behind you, you will be able to come up with better solutions, better processes and this will eventually become your purpose and your skills will give you meaning.

It is all in your hands, but first you will need to have the discipline and perseverance to put in the time and effort to get to that point.

I wish you the strength and wisdom to choose the best path for yourself and the nerve and perseverance needed to get where you want to get in life. Nothing is lost. Find the thing that will drive you toward the life you described, and put in the time and effort to get there.

I will consider your story in the work and information that I will share. Thank you for the input.

Feel free to challenge these ideas as well as yourself and challenge back if you have different opinions.

Only by having uncomfortable discussions and by embracing challenges, we can all better ourselves.

All the best to you!

Being a real person. I find it difficult to be myself. Sometimes I think maybe I have no idea who I am; I only think I do. I find it very difficult to open up at all. Especially with close loved ones.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
