Hey guys, I just wanted to share a short story about what happened this Friday. I was just a bit surprised by how well it went, and I've gained a lot of confidence from it even though it could have gone a lot better. I also wanted to share this because it's pretty much the first time that I've ever tried to approach a girl. I'm 18 years old and I've never had any kind of intimate or romantic relationship with a girl thus far, but I'm definitely not brooding over it.

I was going on a plane trip to a sports contest over this recent weekend, and decided to try approaching women just for the heck of it. Since it's so far away, chances are that any bad results won't come back to haunt me ever.

I step into the plane and start making my way towards my seat. Along the way, I spot an HB9, an absolutely stunning young brunette with straight, long hair. I finally remember to look down on my ticket to see which seat I'm supposed to sit in and, holy shit, it's the one right next to her.

So I take my seat and think to myself that I can't let this opportunity slip by, but what am I supposed to do? I was a bit intimidated as she was wearing a Gucci shawl, and wore some pretty expensive-looking golden rings and wrist-watch. Everything about her, to me, just screamed "she will not want to talk to you". My only comfort was some kind of a feeling of gentleness I got from looking at her face. I believe that the first impression you get from looking at a persons face usually tells you a lot, so I took some solace in that.

The flight took off without me saying anything, just occasionally glancing at her to see if there was anything I could have started a conversation about. I was thinking about asking her something about her wrist-watch, but for some reason, I didn't.

After takeoff, she fell asleep, and I felt l had missed my chance. Towards the end of the hour-long flight, the captain announced in the loud-speakers that we would be landing in about five minutes. This announcement startled the sleeping beauty and made her quite literally jump in her seat. I saw this humorous event as my opening, so I giggled and asked her playfully if she was tired.

To my surprise, she immediately answered and told me without batting an eye that she had barely gotten any sleep during the night. I proceeded to ask her if it was related to her work, which it was, and asked her about her work, etc.

She told me that she was travelling a lot, even living in Dubai for the last two years. I figured that this meant that she did not have a boyfriend, because of the difficulties of a distance relationship. The purpose of her trip was also to visit a female friend, which made slightly more likely that she was single.

We continued talking about random topics until we landed and got our bags and she said that she had to leave since her friend was waiting for her. I would not have been able to go with them or anything like that, since I was there with 3 friends whom I met up with at the baggage claim, and we had to go check in at our own hotel. We said goodbye without even exchanging names.

As the title says, I'm pleased with how this turned out. I did not believe that she would be as talkative and responsive to me as she actually was, and I take the confidence I gained as a victory from this.

But still, doing any kind of closing felt, and still feels like it would be extremely hard in this situation. I am only 18 years old, still in high school for another month while she is 21 and working two jobs and soon to move to Scotland for a college degree. I guess it still would not have cost me anything to just go for it, and that's probably what I'm the most disappointed about. Worst case scenario, and also the most likely one, would just be her laughing it off and thanking me for the flattery, I guess.

Thank you for reading all of this. Please give me any thoughts you have.
