It is likely she wants to set up an arrangement whereby you treat each other alternatively. You pay the next one, she'll pay for the one after that. Personally, I really like that sort of thing.

Don't read too much into it, unless followed by weird behavior. I like to pay for guys sometimes, mostly because it doesn't matter, and as a nod to "Hey, I'm not just out with you for free shtuff"

She is proud.

Don't make it a bigger deal that it is. Modern social interactions is to complex to assert dominance by a simple gentlemanly gesture. If your alpha game is dependent on a cliche you have bigger issues than the fact that she payed for dinner. I won't go on a workforce tirade but fundamentally if she can do it for herself, and doesn't need a man for it, it's not alpha, because a beta can do it just as easy.

Did you ask her out, and if so, did you explicitly use the word "date"? Did you escalate? Did you kiss her?

My only point is that if she set this up, or you made it seem like a "friend" thing, and you have not made a move, then she is potentially sending a signal that this is "friends". You won't know unless you make a move.

If you go out with her again, do the wine tasting. A woman who will risk getting drunk with you which could lead to sex means she is into you. If she won't drink with you, and you didn't specify this is a date, then you got a free dinner. Maybe nothing more. So escalate to find out!
