German study (https://orf.at/stories/3120645 [in German])
Compared to successful transitions from education (college etc) to employment, young couples break up 43% more often, if a man isn't immediatetly successful in the first few years of their profession and becomes unemployed for a while. If the woman in the relationship fails, the break up-rate doesn't change.
Furthermore, a successful man leads to a more stable relationship and a higher chance for both to move in together. Whether a woman works at all has no effect on that.
The study was made by women. And they plea for more equality and less pressure on young men to succeed. That's nice.
