Okay. 5'11 and 290, early 40s.

Played football in high school, but got fat in college. Started lifting weights again, off and on, a few years back.

I'm dieting, doing SL 5x5, and hiking for a half an hour a day.

I'd like to start jogging, but I've got this feeling I'd damage my feet/knees/shin splints if I don't wait until I lose another 50 pounds, maybe more.

Advice?
