Rich Cooper, Rian Stone, and Jon from Modern Life Dating started a private community on Facebook that's grown to about 700 users in a month. I am a fan of both Rich and Rian and like their youtube content. I almost went to 21 Con because they were going to be there and of all the content creators, they are among the elite bringing concise, relevant, and easily applicable wisdom.

Their Group Rules from the Admins

1 You must have a profile pictureYou will not be accepted if you do not have a profile picture of yourself, no exceptions.2 You must use your main facebook accountAbsolutely no sock puppet accounts, use your main facebook account, or you will be declined entry and banned.3 Don't be an askholeDo not ask questions, and do nothing with the information, and come back again later asking a similar question.

This isn't an advertisement to that group, nearly the opposite. Full disclosure, I have joined, made some comments here and there. However.....I have questions and concerns.

Concerns

  1. I am apprehensive to get involved in facebook groups at all, let alone controversial ones because facebook privacy.. well isn't great. For example, a simp I know within the industry I am in changed his privacy settings to accidentally expose all his groups somehow, so not only his wife, but any on his friends list could see his posts in "BBW in Chicago" on his timeline and in their news feed.
  2. Reddit is like my "Rick Sanchez Portal Gun" to check out odd things, be anonymous, be weird, be a troll at times, and occasionally acknowledge that I'm a dipshit and need own it and grow. Facebook is where I put on the public persona. It feels like inviting the side chick and the wife to the same party.
  3. A lot the 21 Con speakers, bloggers, podcasts, and youtube channels use aliases. In fact there's been some talk recently about Rollo "doxxing" a meeting location to a NYT reporter, then she showed up. I think RC was concerned about security at a 21 Con event and backed out.
  4. My limited view on doxxing is that I created an new anonymous Reddit account for this because I didn't want anyone, especially my wife, googling my regular reddit username and seeing this post and comment history. She would be pissed, shit tests and comfort tests would flood in, and she would see my changes as role playing and I would lose dread. I just don't want to start over again.

Questions

  1. What are your thoughts on Facebook groups and privacy?
  2. What are the legitimate concerns on getting doxxed?
  3. Has anyone HERE actually been doxxed and had legitimate fallout?
  4. Is there already an actual "MRP" group on facebook already that I just don't know about?
