Wash your face every morning with a face wash that's suitable for your skin type. Doesn't need to be expensive, pretty much any brand will do.

Apply a face serum - the best you can afford. Cheap shit ain't worth it. Anthony High Performance Anti-Wrinkle Glycolic Peptide Serum is great. Serums are often overlooked and underated but they are by far the best thing you can use on your skin.

Apply a moisturiser generously. Bulldog is pretty good for the price. Most mid-range moisturisers will do the trick.

Apply eye cream - best you can afford. Keihl, Clarins, Lab Series. All good.

Apply an SPF moisturiser - again, best you can afford. Lab Series is my go-to.. I use one with a tint to add a bit of colour to my face.

In the evenings, wash again with a face wash and apply a large dose of daily moisturiser.

Coconut oil after shower and shaving on face, scalp and hair, but most importantly eat a low carb, no sugar diet with plenty of good fats. The diet has reversed a lot of skin problems that come with age (56), such as flaking, dryness, etc.

I believe in taking care of myself, in a balanced diet, in a rigorous exercise routine. In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I'll put on an ice pack while doing my stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now. After I remove the icepack, I use a deep pore-cleanser lotion. In the shower, I use a water-activated gel cleanser, then a honey-almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb mint facial masque which I leave on for ten minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after-shave lotion with little or no alcohol because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm, followed by a final moisturizing "protective" lotion... There is an idea of a Patrick Bateman, some kind of abstraction, hut there is no real me, only an entity, something illusory, and though I can hide my cold gaze and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping you and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable: I simply am not there.

First off, the best time to look good by 40 is to start when you're 20. The fact you waited till 36 means you're already behind the 8-ball.

A lot of facial youth is due to collagen in the facial skin. This largely degrades over time, and cannot be helped. Genetics are a factor, as is thickness.
exfoliating keep your face from looking like a dry riverbed. Funny thing, daily shaving exfoliates better than most anything else. But a face scouring pad (axe has those tire shaped luffas that come with their bodywash) once a week is always good
dehydration is not your friend. Keep drinking water, throw some lotion on when it's cold and the weather sucks it out of your face
Whats not your friend? the sun. Stop sun tanning all damned day. sun screen, wear hats when sailing, and stay out of tanning beds.
extreme cuts remove fat in your face, especially the intra muscle fat. Over time, excessive cutting cycles will age you faster. Then again, being a fat fuck makes one look old too, so figure a system out

Your dark circles are from dehydration and lack of sleep btw, also that you're a dark skinned dude, so it's what happens. I know you want a magic pill, but you need to sort your lifestyle out or accept looking like Palpatine

This is all I use. You do need to do something, but I have a hard time having a routine for my face that is more involved than my wife's. Just clean your face and then use something like this. There are others, but I like this one because it barely smells like anything, it is affordable, is easy to find, and checks the major boxes for stuff you should be applying to your face to protect it. I only want my cologne to be fragrant, not a billion scents from deodorants, lotions, hair products, etc. This is pretty much odorless with maybe a hint of sunscreen smell to it. Keep it simple. You have more important things to do.

Seems like something you could’ve googled but I’m flattered you’d like to know what I do:

1) avoid sugar. 2) exercise regularly (lifting and cardiovascular work). 3) diet diet diet. 4) manage stress. 5) take omega 3, 6’s, black currant oil, sunflower seed oil, coconut oil. (I don’t do all of these all the time, but I have tried them all at one point) 6) I use argan oil on my beard, face and hair regularly. 7) sun block. 8) avoid alcohol, at least chronic use. When I was a drunk ten years ago my skin looked like shit and I looked aged. This really was a big one for me. 9) don’t be fat. 10) if you’re fat, lose weight.

All your buddies will give you crap, but slather yourself in sunscreen when you’re doing outdoor shit. Two of my fishing pals have had melanoma, I’ve had basal cell carcinoma (at 36), and my friends that did tanning beds regularly now all have faces that look like footballs.

I'm your age. If you're already getting 7+ hours of sleep, adequate hydration, proper nutrition (50% veggies, every meal), regular cardio, avoiding smoking, and limiting alcohol and caffeine then you've got the internal factors covered.

Skin toner was a big difference maker for me. I'm fair skinned, so using a high SPF moisturizer every day and a high SFP sunscreen when outdoors is table stakes at this point. A good skin toner will remove the material that the soap won't get and it's designed to remove dead skin and hydrate the rest. It's important to match the type of toner with your skin type; certain types of toners work better if you've got oily skin versus just dry skin, et cetera. After I'm done washing my face, I'll put some toner on a damp washcloth and wipe my face down - focusing on any areas that are especially dry or oily. Once you've done this, your face is ready to absorb your moisturizer.

Secondly, exfoliating regularly is a big contributor for proper moisture absorption. Once per week is enough for me, and I rotate face/body/hands/feet on different days. For my hands/feet, I usually shave or grind down any callouses from lifting first so my grip stays tight and my hands don't rip during gymnastic work. Then, I exfoliate.

Lastly and most importantly, go to the dermatologist regularly. Get a skin check/cancer screening. Learn about your skin type and what's specifically recommended for you. Have them put together a skin care plan for you. If you sweat a lot outside the gym or have flaky skin/scalp, they'll help you fix that. I don't know why going to the dermatologist isn't more common amongst men, but once you're in your thirties it should be a must.

Neutrogena Deep Clean Facial scrub is the shit. Used it for years. It's basically just a gentle exfoliation of your skin in the shower every day. Doesn't dry out skin at all. I've found no real need for additional lotions or anything.. just use that daily.
