It's one of the saddest things I've ever read. The part below is why I think it was such a big factor in the recent changes in his personal life.

I have to say that her death made me feel like a fool. For years I’ve been chasing women, fame, and novelty, thinking that those things would make me happy or somehow complete me when the one thing that could make me happy was so close the entire time. Instead I went to faraway lands, as far as I could, to pursue exotic pleasures and entertainment. They were fun at the time because my family was healthy, my sister was healthy, and I was healthy, but now that all seems so meaningless. I don’t even want to remember those experiences. The only thing I’m scared of is that in a few months, once the pain of her death subsides, I’ll go right back to doing all that, because I don’t know what else my life is for.

Tesla was an individual. Roosh is an individual. I'm an individual. Tesla said, "What we call 'soul' or 'spirit,' is nothing more than the sum of the functionings of the body. When this functioning ceases, the 'soul' or the 'spirit' ceases likewise." That doesn't sound anything like Roosh's conversion to the Armenian Apostolic Church, so comparing Tesla to Roosh is apples to oranges at best. For all we know, Roosh could end up becoming one of the Armenian church's celibate priests.

I've been married twice and both times my wives fooled around while I was deployed in Afghanistan and one of them got pregnant, so I'm not sure what you're meaning by saying his religious conversion is "my own cope." Comparing Roosh being a bachelor to me and my failed marriages is apples to oranges. I don't want to join the Armenian church, even though I think it's what Roosh should do if he thinks it's what's best for him. I'm sure he has put a lot of thought into it.

And I don't think Roosh is going crazy. I never said that or anything remotely similar to that. I said that I respect his decision. He seems like a genuinely good guy and I wish him the very best.

What you chose to leave out of that Tesla quote makes transparent how you pick and choose what you like.

There is no soul or spirit. These are merely expressions of the functions of the body. These life functions cease with death and so do soul and spirit. What humanity needs is ideals. Idealism is the force that will free us from material fetters.

Tesla was also a eugenicist and saw both religion and science as eugenic forces that transform humanity by selecting for and against certain traits. For example the abuse and lack of resources to bastards selects against genes for adultery and disloyalty. There is a lot of research that shows how religiosity is related to better life and more evolutionarily adaptive behavior.

Armenian Apostolic Church is Orthodox and only Catholics have celibacy for common clergy.

Bad choice in women is not very related to what you are replying to. Just like there is the unemployable psychological profile, there is the unfaithful type. You not having skills to profile (and test) people well says about you. Judging peoples characters is an incredibly rare and valuable trait. I would say that is on of most useful traity I am to my friends. I can also say that skill is rare in very masculine type brains. They tend to miss out on loads of signs especially from women, more if they like them, even more if they are raised a certain way and absolutely blind if their mother was not a very... motherly and proper woman who has show them toxic femininity not by example but by pointing it out.

Because I hate religion, and seen the horrors of religion. So, from my mind, you had to be foolish to flock to such ideas. I view religion as sets of values that implant aspects of gynocentricism into otherwise good men. With that said, those were views I held two years ago. I don't hold as black and white of a view towards religion as I once did.

I evolved from the "opiate of the masses" viewpoint because I just felt there was more nuance to that assessment after having spent more time in my community. Made some really good Christian friends who don't make a persistent effort to convert me. They seem to genuinely care for me as I am. My views were super extreme in the Marxist regard towards religion, but when my step mother's father passed away, I watched her draw her inner strength to carry on, by saying that God gives her the power because she has the greatest family. She died a little over a year later, and my kid brother was 9 at the time. His religious community did things for him that were amazing. They threw him a party on his 10th birthday and had a lot of people there. A woman who had not gotten along with my stepmother for years, told me that she and my stepmom had just reached good terms a few weeks before, and she went out and bought my dad and brothers $200 worth of groceries for them. Food, bread, milk, everything. Who does that?!

Eventually, I realized that religion is like everything else in that it's not for everybody.

Cut the crap. Horrors of religion my ass. That is a retarded old meme that is a literal magnet for 'spiteful mutants'. Low genetic quality young males who 'see through it' in puberty.

You don't see through it... Your mind is rationalizing your knee jerk hate of being told what to do, how to live, how to feel and being shaped into something someone else will find useful.

Humans evolved to have a religion. No atheistic group survived. Even a proto religion is good enough as long as it instills collectivism, self sacrifice, a cause worth living and dying for, a set of objective values that enable to see virtue and sin, and basis for feeling not merely social shame but also guilt when noone is looking. It has to promote fertility and other evolutionarily adaptive things.

Every group disappeared that lost its religiosity. Greeks when they replaced religiosity with philosophy. Rome when it stoped believing in old Gods and became hedonists before Christian germans conquered them. Persians when they stopped believing in their ancient religion and then came anothet group united under Zoroastrianism etc etc.

There is a cyclical way civilizations work. Listen to 'Fate of empires' on youtube and you will realize what marxism is.
