Alcohol and gaming?

I am not of drinking age yet, and have very little experience with it.
When "on the scene" at a social event or bar/club, what are your
alcohol limits? Do you use it to gain a social advantage, being more
friendly inebriated? Or, do you stay sober to be mentally above
everyone else.
