Is there an antidote to nihilism? If so, what is it constituted of? 2 upvotes | April 3, 2020 | by Aestheticcunt1996 ------------------------- The more I learn about the ambivalent nature of human beings and how the miserable pull down the primarily (not exclusively, because there are no such people) good natured people on an individual basis and also on a macro scale, the more clearly I see the nihilism manifest itself before me. On the individual level, I feel it latently infusing me when I see an instance of what TRP calls "crabs in the bucket". I feel it on a societal level in times of crisis like the corona crisis we experience right now. I feel it when I see the damned junkies on the streets. When I look at the night sky and return to the realisation of being an ineffably tiny dust cloud in this space of vast expanse. It seems too easy to just turn my view towards the good things that human beings do. Like loving and raising children. Caring about living beings and the planet etc. It does not seem to balance out nihilism. How can I, if at all, escape it? ------------------------- Archived from https://theredarchive.com/post/360110
