Who Pushes For Commitment?

My logic is if woman hold the key to sex then it is the men's job to
go for it, and if men hold the key to commitment then it is the
woman's job to go for it.

If the man is the one asking/ leading for commitment would that lower
his value? (because he is giving what women want instead of being the
women asking/ chasing it)
