No, no, no ,no. You're still succumbing to her frame if you follow this mentality. Everyone gets something different out of TRP. To me, TRP is self improvement. Self improvement to overcome all of the self-defeating paradigms that we've been taught throughout our lives. The largest, most harmful of which being that we have to sublimate ourselves to our SO's wishes if WE ourselves wish to be happy. Your post plays into that; it frames your actions as being designed to please HER or to make HER mo…

No direct evidence that screaming can cause a collapsed lung, but I believe it's legit, especially for a neonate who is in distress. Let me explain: A collapsed lung is caused by a pneumothorax (google it). Two of the most common and insidious causes of pneumothorax are explosives (blast lung) and diving. Both blast and dive-induced pneumothaces are caused by a pressure differential; there are cases of divers popping a lung when ascending from as little as three feet (one meter). I know from exp…

Kiny made a great point, and I'm glad to see it's the top post. We need to encourage fairness and recognize when someone (male or female) steps over the line. While well-intentioned, Jameis stepped over a line. Some may wonder why this article is here in MensRights, but I think it's a good idea to foster debate and call out men who blatantly act sexist. Words matter, especially to impressionable children who are looking up at a respected figure. RG57: I'm disappointed to see your comment here. W…

Because women earn less, rely more on benefits, and are much more likely than men to be single parents, the cuts affected them disproportionately. I really have to hand it to whoever wrote this nifty sentence is incredible. This is spinning elevated to an art. Because women earn less, 1) Women have agency and are responsible for their own career decisions. Women, as a whole, make decisions that lead to lower wages than men. Choices such major, jobs with more time off, and having/raising kids. re…

I've seen lots of numbers thrown around regarding the number of children killed by this practice, but never a source. Would you enlighten me, please? On a side note, I'm about to have a son. Seeing as how I'm uncut myself, somehow my wife threw a fit when I told her our son would not be cut. Reasons, reasons, reasons. As soon as I told her that I'd be willing to circumcise our son if she agreed to cut off a portion of our daughter's vagina, she let it rest. Double side: that's about as humane a …

Because this is tMrp, I'm going to head out on a tangent because many of us have daughters. I brush my daughter's hair dry. Every single time I'm home to do it. This is exactly what /u/sexyshoulderdevil suggests: daddy-taking-care-of-her-comfort-time that I anticipate becoming awesome daddy-daughter time away from mommy when she gets older. She's two now; I don't expect too much. Most of my RP teachings at this point come via my interactions with my wife which I know she internalizes even at thi…
