Post-conflict is difficult to define, but I'd imagine the massive impact WW2 had on Poland has had an impact on the male suicide rate and will continue to do so for quite some time. 7	What are your questions about male suicide? Post-conflict countries all seem to have higher levels of male suicide. My master's thesis looked at masculinity and the rise of male suicide rates in post-conflict Northern Ireland. It was quite frustrating to write because a lot of the resources relied on phrases that are banned from discussion. I don't think the first links you shared really demonstrated your point. At no stage have I denied the existence of female perpetrators, so I'm not sure why you included your second link. Your first link shows that there are incredibly high levels of domestic abuse in relationships involving two women, but that's still a female victim, so women tend to be more violent with other women. You're using a 20 year old source from that looks at people in the age bracket of 18-28. In that one specific bracket you might be right, but that isn't reflective of the rest of society. Every government organisation in every country I've looked at shows that more women experience domestic abuse than men. The victim blaming, the denial of basic reality, the bad faith argumentation and the dodging of any criticism is just too much for me to consider this guy actually cares about victims of domestic abuse. They seem to follow a similar pattern that male eating disorders follow pursuits of musculature, which would fall nicely into the theory of toxic masculinity. Also, it's a very niche thing. 38	A new academic paper argues that men do talk and seek help for their mental health problems. And that focusing on getting men to "speak up" is counterproductive and "detracts attention from structural drivers of suicide" in men. I always found the message of men need to speak up more quite problematic. Often times when men do speak up they're told it isn't their place to talk or elements of privilege are brought into the conversation. I personally think there's nothing worse than making yourself vulnerable to another human being and then for them to either ignore what you've said or being quite hostile. I think it's reasonable to ask men to perhaps reflect on some of their past actions. I guarantee you every man on this forum has done something that has made a woman feel "unsafe." 4	Sarah Everard I think it's perfectly acceptable to take a step back from the gender fight for a while. It gets you down and it can be difficult to pick yourself back up.
