You're on the right path. Next: Join a MMA/Krav Maga/Sistema gym. Stop the porn - it's poison that will weaken you. Put good things in your mind to cultivate strength of character and thinking. Talk to people. Your goal - and the ultimate thing that will make you "alpha" - is to eventually become confident. Doesn't matter how you look, how much money you have, what your IQ is: confidence beats it all.

I could mostly live with those supplements, but I am not sure about that ashwaganda. Simple formula: strength training, eat testosterone-boosting foods, and stop jerking off.

This sounds appealing. I couldn't eschew it ALL, due to work obligations that depend on the internet, but I bet I could trim down my media consumption radically.

This is a good post. I like it. It reinforces something I've been mulling over: I have been considering (for a time) only reading books and/or watching movies from before the mid-20th century. And cutting out all else. My belief is that I would become more acutely aware of the strange & damaging effects of the mass media of today. The stuff currently out there is industrial-strength mental poison. No wonder it has so twisted the thinking of so many otherwise intelligent people we all know.

How about: be smart and pair that with being a good storyteller? Women do not want to hear how smart you are. But they do like interesting men...and interesting men are most-often intelligent. So: learn to tell stories well. Learn to be a good conversationalist. If you can do THAT, then naturally your knowledge will spill out into your interactions with women.

What's growing up? Having a purpose larger than yourself. But maybe I'm wrong.

People don't want to grow up these days. That's a big reason for this. It's a lot of factors, but the aversion young men have to becoming full-grown responsible men is the biggest overall reason. They just lack the maturity and drive men had 20 years ago.

This is one of the best things I've ever read on Reddit. Thanks for posting this.

Every year. Not a certain time, but yes soon after the birthday. I like surprises so for my kids, it's a surprise.

The foundation of having a good social "presence" is confidence. So, equip him with the tools that will give him confidence. I am a huge believer in formal dance lessons for this - it does wonders for confidence in certain events. I am also a big believer in the small things that are memorable and useful (socially) - learning to remember (and use) people's names, knowing how to tell a few good jokes, and being knowledgable about current events. Take him to a men's clothing store and get him a co…

Thanks! Yes, none of this is necessarily for just boys or girls - it works for everyone. And it's sort of a shame that we call normal common-sense stuff like this "Red Pill". It should just be the way things are. I happen to think there IS something really great about discipline and order found in a martial art with the added benefit of learning self-defense simultaneously. YMMV of course, I am just stating my thoughts and not making a dogmatic statement. Just trying to share something helpful. …

Let us take this to heart, and teach this to our sons.

I have thought about these a while and they might change, but this is what I have so far for one son. (I expect to change what I do a bit for each of them. They're all different in talents/personalities/needs somewhat.) When he turns 12, just he and I will go primitive camping for a weekend. We'll hike and set up camp and cook, etc. I want him to be just as much of a planner and worker as I normally am when I take the family camping. I plan on presenting him with a nice, good quality pocket knif…

People respond to the man who doesn't apologize for every little perceived slight. This is why Trump has high approval ratings.

I think this is probably common for married men who've begun to study game or gotten ahold of a Red Pill mindset. The wife will see the difference, and initially not know what to think about it. It both captivates and perplexes a wife, whose formerly-supplicant husband becomes suddenly assertive.

Games that involve talking to other people (face to face) are good. And if you want to play with kids, poker isn't gonna cut it: Munchkin will. It makes for a nice way to spend some time with the family.

Video games are a particularly touchy subject. Why? Because they're associated with "beta-ness" (as much as I hate that term). They're a child's toy (even though full-grown men play them these days). They are nothing more than a time-killer: you accomplish nothing at all with them. With all of that being true, I will concede that yes - in moderation - they're OK. But moderation means a couple times a month in my mind, while for someone else it may mean a couple hours a day. Whatever your opinion…

Awesome and very timely post. (I also just posted an article about hobbies.) Having a hobby you can share with your sons is a great opportunity to teach them, to reinforce your bond, to give you and him something to talk about and a way to relate to each other. And I'm a big believer in worthwhile hobbies - or, as you said, hobbies that make you well-rounded. I want to get some sort of benefit from my hobbies other than just "killing time".

I actually agree with you - and your point is important. I should clarify something regarding the chores: the boys DO have assigned chores for which we don't pay them. It's just that sometimes we give them additional ways to earn some money. Some of the daily chores they divide up are things like: sweep the floors, empty the garbage, empty the compost, walk the dog, clean the table, clean the bathroom sink, do their own laundry. My wife made a chart for the boys so they can see who does what on …

Pushups, squats, weights, and pull-ups. Do one or more of these everyday and you'll be in decent if not great shape (depending on factors such as intensity of workout and diet). Went to a "American Ninja" type course with my 24-y.o. nephew recently. I am over 10 years older than him. He tried the course and repeatedly fell into the foam pit, or lost his grip, or whatever. I then went for it and proceeded to (mostly) kill it. He kept going on and on about how he couldn't believe I was so good. We…

There's hope for any man who survives, learns from his bad experiences, and consciously changes who he is. The alternative is to keep being a pushover who is continually used by others.

You're right about how to act when someone is fishing for your wallet, etc. but what you're called common sense isn't always so "common". There is a time at which some men need to wake up, assert themselves, and consciously THINK. This is when they begin to get the common sense of how to actually behave. For some people, confidence needs to be attained, then strengthened. And it's a decision. So don't discount confidence; confidence is central to many of the things we call "alpha" or Red Pill.
