What I meant by fake confidence breeds real confidence is that maybe the first couple times you might feel awkward 'pretending' but after a few more times you're finding it easier and then it becomes natural. For me, being confident isn't something I try to be or even emulate, I know I'm confident whether I'm talking to friends, colleagues or hookups. Use that to your advantage, with random people you interact with and you'll find you're getting better at being more confident.
