Video gaming from the age of 6 until 22 seems impossible to break but I've seen a success or two. Tell them to get a job as a video game QA tester. That should do the trick.

I prefer being unknown. But, I do realize that being unknown greatly reduces my opportunities for finding and doing good work. It's something I'm working on. If you need some ideas, I'm happy to provide them in private. Hit me up in September and I can dig up my flowcharts. I'll take you up on that. I'm always up for discussing ideas.

What's your job? I'm a programmer who specializes mostly in web development. I did video games for a few years, but it wasn't my cup of tea, for many reasons. My issue isn't with the concept that some people are lords and some serfs, producers and consumers respectively. I've made my peace with that particular revelation. My issue is feeding into the system that drives the downfall of my country, civilization and race. In other words, I won't be creating a brand that caters to female consumers j…

Instead of crying about it, why aren't you secretly part of it? I sure am. And this is where that pesky thing called ethics falls into play for me. A small group of rich men are hastening the decline of western civilization to line their already overflowing pockets. That's enough for me to want to exclude myself, but to make matters worse, they're also the same group of men who are advocating for the genocide of all people with white colored skin. They want to kill me and my people. Why would I …

Depends on your jurisdiction. A lawyer in california was accused of several counts of rape with multiple women who answered a craigslist ad asking for partners for rough sex. He recorded (almost) all of them (which is illegal in California), but on presenting the evidence, those charges were immediately dropped.

I worked in Silicon Valley for a decade. You are most definitely one of the lucky ones, especially if you never took funding. Do you know what we rank and file call the startup scene? The Startup Lottery. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess one of these two things are true: you're currently building your own company and dream of selling it one day and retire early OR you did exactly what you said you did, are now part of a VC firm and have a financial interest in propagating the myth of the …

Care to elaborate? I have a consulting business (sole proprietorship) and I'm working on a SAAS app on the side. I've spent very little money on either. Then again, I have no employees, no assets and I'm not trying to grow like a startup either.

Not to nit pick, but while the gender spread is roughly 50% women, the voting pool is 55% women. Roughly 5% of men are ex-cons or in jail and can't vote. Even if 100% of men suddenly manned up and became 1940's versions of themselves, hell bent on keeping all women in the kitchen, they'd still have to get at least 6% of women on board to reverse the ERA. Other than that, your analysis is spot on. My question is (and has been for years): do businesses pander to women because they buy more or do w…

In this case, you don't need to know the reason why. The brass tacks of this is the company fired the only employee that allowed the most popular segment of the site to function (IAMA). Why is irrelevant at this point. Just from an operational standpoint, you don't fire a key employee if doing so will disrupt operations. You find a replacement first, then transition. The fact that nobody on the C level knew this prior to her firing doesn't bode well for reddit.

but shoot it at an innocent person and there need to be consequences. Define "innocent". Guns have very, very specific situations under which they are legal and illegal to use. 'Guilt' or 'innocence' have nothing to do with those rules. Also, speech already has those rules in most nations. It's called slander, defamation, creating unnecessary panic (shouting fire in a crowded theater).

CEOs don't own the company, they just run it. By the time this is done, it will have no impact on reddit at all. Reddit, along with most social media sites, don't make a profit. They instead get continually floated money by Venture Capitalists on the hope that one day they'll finally figure out how to make money.

You believe that going back and restricting women to make up for their advantages is the best option. If that's what you believe, then you've completely failed to grasp the argument. Go google "moral hazard". If you're not sure why it applies here, come back and ask and I'll explain it in detail.

Is it narcissism or carefully crafted manipulation tactics? This whole situation reminds me a lot of L. Ron Hubbard and Scientology. He wants to be a guru, so he's creating a religion where he's the prophet. Nothing he says needs to be true, so long as people believe it.

Don't you think it's a possibility that people who are successful have spent that time differently? Yes, but that doesn't mean he's aware of what exactly it is he did that made him successful or not. That's why wunderkind stories aren't all that helpful. Sometimes it's just luck and good timing. Sometimes it's because of something specific the kid focuses on. It's almost never because he hustled like a boss and has 10 failed startups under his belt by the age of 15. Some of those same wunderkind…

Define major. I used to think running a 220 line to the water heater was considered major electrical work. Since I started building LiFePo packs for electric motors, water heaters seem like a walk in the park. For me, the question boils down to "do I know enough about this topic to be safe?" If the answer is no, either pay somebody else or do some more research.

I assume they're talking about slut-shaming They're talking about Misogyny. They say we hate women. Keep in mind their claims don't have to be true or even make sense. All they have to do is keep repeating it over and over and tell anybody who tries to take a look for themselves that they're no longer part of the respectable members of the human race. That is why they'll fail. Humans have a morbid curiosity about anything taboo or forbidden. The stats of many manosphere sites surge after public …

Sailor's Law of Female Journalism: The most heartfelt articles by female journalists tend to be demands that social values be overturned in order that, Come the Revolution, the journalist herself will be considered hotter-looking. This doesn't just apply to journalists anymore. The SJWs have a vested interest in keeping the social values that give them power.

Why does Paul Graham keep popping up in these discussions about censorship? Yes, he wrote that essay. He also created a news site called Hacker News and created the heavy handed censorship over there that reddit is now adopting. Welcome to Silicon Valley. It's only going to get worse.

I don't know about aviation specifically, but I have some insight into STEM and businesses in general. Large corporations get sued like we breathe air. Most have large staffs of lawyers whose only job is to minimize the damage. These companies live in terror of being accused of sexism or racism, since the mere public accusation could embolden former employees to file a lawsuit. It's like chum in the water; it attracts the sharks. Intel, in particular, has been schizophrenic since GamerGate. Now …

You wouldn't be attracted to a woman who made no effort on her appearance so you can't expect a woman to be attracted to a man who makes no effort either. Right conclusion, wrong reasons. Men aren't women and vice versa. Women are attracted to power, money and control. Suits display money and power. A well groomed appearance displays control over yourself. Ridiculous confidence displays control over your environment.

As a fellow writer, I mean this with every fiber of my being: don't make the ideology the point of the writing. You're no better than the other side when you do that. Instead, write a compelling story. If that compelling story happens to have a good man at the heart of it, so much the better. But I'd rather read a good story about a flawed man than a bad story about an alpha. Of course, the worst of all would be a bad story about a despicable man being "humanized", of which there are plenty. So,…

THIS. I love shy women. They are my go to personality type because they're submissive, easy going and tend to have pleasant demeanors. But, they still pull all the same shit the crass, aggressive women do, they're just more subtle about it. They don't get in your face when they're angry. Instead, they give you the cold shoulder. I'd almost rather deal with the aggressive shit tests, because at least those feel like verbal combat. When a bitch starts in on me, I verbally pound her into the paveme…

I agree with most of what you've written, with a few exceptions. Marriage creates unchosen obligations. Parents and family have such a fundamental influence on women while they grow up that you can tell a lot about who she really is and who she will be by her family. If her family is a shitty one, congrats, you've just strapped a time bomb to your chest. Marriage is a man-made concept. So is civilization. Without marriage, the modern world wouldn't exist at all. Selfish is one of those words that gets misused in a rhetorical fashion so other people can exert control over you. Like rape, the word no longer means what it says in the dictionary. The old definition is "Concerned chiefly or excessively with oneself, and having little regard for others." The new definition is putting your own concerns before the concerns of others, ever. Or, in the case of most women, putting your own concerns above hers, ever. Being RP is NOT being selfish. The key phrase he…

Try surprising her with a thoughtful gift. If you really do fall too far on the Alpha side of the alpha/beta balance needed for an LTR, she'll be ecstatic at the gesture. Another possibility is her marriage clock is ticking. A lot of LTRs essentially "time out" because the woman sees the LTR as a brief stop on her way to marriage. When a certain amount of time has passed and it becomes clear to her that your SMP has raised beyond her ability to make you commit, she'll get increasingly anxious.
