If this is what she’s going to do, why even have a discussion with him? Just set a boundary and enforce it. I don’t really think there’s anything to discuss with him, as there’s nothing he is being asked to do, or can do as you can’t make time go faster.

Without knowing your age it is hard. Perhaps mimic/take fashion ideas from famous conservative women you vibe with. Eg, Allie Beth Stuckey if you’re younger, Sarah Michelle Gellar if in your 40s, Martha mcCallum if u r in your 50s, etc

Do at least a few years at the top firm. Do your 1-3 years billing / sacrificing. This boosts your market value big time. Closer to or after marriage consider taking a step back and getting a corp job with a 40/wk expectation. When kids arrive, leave the corp job and position yourself to do freelance / part-time contracts or similar easy work - people love to find cheaper ways to get access to counsel who was once at a top firm.
