good thing he so generously provided a link to... his own blog, for our convenience :)

it's raining today, so spending the day at home in bed, being lazy with my husband while it rains, sounds lovely. if it weren't raining, i'd say that taking a trip (international or not) to somewhere we've been wanting to go and spending a few days to a week there would be the best way to celebrate.

there is no rule requiring you to tell people you're reporting them; that's just petty, like much of your conduct here.

there are many great examples in this thread of people who are not ready for parenthood, and should not be parents.

Because no man ever expects that to be the first place a woman would try to hit, and therefore restrain or block her. this, or any reaction he would have to try and fight me off if i did that. in the end, either way, he has more force than me + he might be pretty pissed off after i do that. i might have a chance of defending myself enough to limit the damage (or just not die), but there's little chance of me being able to fight back with any kind of success, especially if he's angry and violent.…

i don't doubt that some people do that; lots of TRPers do, i'm sure. however, from your description above, your problems were fairly obvious and not easily veiled as a pill thing.

it's not milk, it's a partner's unwillingness to do even minor things to help their partner when they need it. i don't disagree that someone who can't even offer the slightest help to his partner should be alone though (and may very well be soon).

it has nothing to do with alpha or beta, you just addressed your ADHD and substance abuse problems (as did she). if it's improved your situation then i'm glad, but i don't think this is related to any pill stuff.

this is also bad, FYI. don't have kids just to build them into a person (or woman, blech), that you wish you would have met yourself, or that you want just to snag a certain kind of man so you can feel good about it. it's weird and setting the kid up for a host of problems if she doesn't follow your created narrative for her by the letter. just play the sims if this is what you want, you know? they even woohoo and have kids, if that's the kind of story you want, with grandkids. you can control e…

yes, it's the end of your comment that i'm referring to. it's with good intentions, maybe, but it's not really good. maybe it will turn into something that isn't just regurgitated RP "logic" someday, but until then... the freedom of not having kids (or them having an unprepared/unwilling parent) is for the best.

My parents have never really been able to handle the fact that I don't care what people think (the exception, of course, being my parents, whose opinion I care way too much about, despite years of trying to let go of that baggage...) it's tough to break free from :/ i haven't quite figured it out myself, aside from a healthy amount of distance to keep myself sane. someday, someday...

I remember my mom telling me as a teenager that living with someone you're not married to is "just announcing to the world that you're a slut." :/ i don't think i ever heard this from my mother as a teen, but she laid on the guilt and shame when i spent the night with a boyfriend in my early twenties, and then moved in with him from my parents' house. it was more "you're just letting him know you're easy/have low standards/why buy the cow/yadda yadda yadda" than concerns about what the rest of s…

come to think of it... you're right. i also thought the statement sounded odd, but... i do remember the boys in class that i hung out with being really nice... we genuinely liked hanging out together and they didn't do anything you could consider extremely taxing or crushing in any way (before any RPers flip out) but, yeah, not so strange.

i want to give OP a pass for being 20 but... his apparent views towards women and concern about a future daughter's purity just spell bad news. given that, it is a good thing that parenthood is just an occasional fleeting thought. to me, the thoughts in the OP are the thoughts of someone not cut out for parenthood (currently). if they change, depending on what they change to, could be a different story.

cheating may end up with that result anyway, you know. cheaters get found out; it's not unheard of. and, there is such a thing as an amicable split (though admittedly, it's not guaranteed, but certainly made worse if you're caught cheating). putting yourself at this additional disadvantage is not wise, IMO. the only way i would personally see this being okay is if it were an agreement to an open relationship for both parties if they so desired... but at that point, it's not cheating anymore.

yeah, i haven't been to NYC or Chicago so i don't know about any similarities there, but nowhere else i've been is quite like LA. San Francisco seems more normal to me, even for a large city area.

oh, i wouldn't. marriage isn't for everyone, and i approve of people exercising their right not to do it. i see no reason to try and convince uninterested people to get married. so, i guess marriage 2.0 would turn into something exclusive to those who really wanted it or i guess we're otherwise forced (but the latter seems unlikely to me). it seems fine to me, still.

seconding this request. i've seen descriptions here and there but they all differ, so it would be best for OP to give us a couple of brief descriptions to work with for the discussion (so we're all on the same page there, at least). edit, after seeing /u/brokenorgan6's comment: i don't personally see an issue with marriage 2.0, so from what i know, it's fine as-is. not everyone succeeds with it, but i don't think that marriage 2.0 is necessarily to blame for that. there may be legitimate problem…

i'm going to guess fake flirting is along the same lines of flattery with the intention of "getting something" out of someone, since OP didn't provide a definition and this seems like the most likely thing. and to answer that, no, i don't. the closest i get to flirting these days (with anyone aside from my husband) is really just friendly, genuine conversation, for fun and nothing more.

handsome is more than just "okay looking" to me, and it's a compliment for sure. if i'm thinking that a guy is handsome, it's usually because he's really great looking. i've never had to explain the feeling behind it so this might not be perfect but... for a sappy example, i'll catch myself looking at my husband and his facial features, how nice they are separately and then how well they go together, and think, "wow, he's really handsome." it's not quite hot or cute, but it can be combined with …

So in short, a father is taking his 3 year old on ridiculously fancy and posh dates to show her how women should be treated. i didn't watch the video so maybe i missed it, but where is it mentioned that these are way fancy and posh? most of it sounds like a special outing, but otherwise fairly normal. is she picking out a new dress every time, or just selecting one she already owns? holding the door is a pretty common courtesy from human to human, as well; i don't see this as outrageously extrav…

not really, considering i'm married and settled in just fine where i live. and i don't believe that they would go without, unwillingly, either way, even in Japan's culture; those guys are wildly popular because they're considered attractive, so anyone with the same traits would be considered attractive.

because they're tired of seeing him on the show? maybe he's annoying, maybe he's been badly written in, maybe he just gets more screen time and isn't as interesting. it's not that weird; show characters can be displeasing sometimes, male or female, and getting killed off is often a way for a character/actor to exit a show. this seems like a non-issue; it's about the reactions viewers are having to a fictional character (far harsher than they might feel or behave toward a regular, real, citizen).…

i wonder if this is another thing/new view caused by porn, or something. there's nothing better than the sensual kind to me, but it does seem to be ridiculed a lot in comparison to more rough sex. a balance is always good, and slow and sensual can be so powerful, and isn't lacking in passion at all. people writing it off are really missing out. i'm not well-versed on it, but i think this is what tantric focuses on.

i can agree with switching things up sometimes, but there's a limit to how much discomfort i'm willing to tolerate. and none of it should be just sprung on me, especially if you're going to be that rough about it. it's not okay to just start choking and hair-pulling a girl because you read that one girl somewhere liked it. this should be obvious, but sadly, some men here...

yeah, the women who post here about liking it rough do the same, and none of them that i recall strongly encourage men to treat all women as they want to be treated by the SO they're getting rough with.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/01/17 11:21 PM
7

i already said that some women like it rough, which is fine, so it has nothing to do with that being unflattering to women (it's not). the things described are described in an unnatural over the top way, and it's filled with inaccuracies (like all women loving jackhammering or whatever). it's ridiculous, on par with TRP posts, so maybe that's why you can't see it. that, or you want to believe this so badly that you refuse to even consider the possibility that it's bullshit.

we're women too, and we're telling you otherwise. multiple women, as opposed to one. so you should be listening to us, no? i'm not suggesting there aren't women that like rough; there are, even in this sub. but there are those who don't, so maybe you shouldn't just go tossing and being super rough with any women you have an encounter with because of one reddit post. use some sense, or things will become inconvenient for you.

because it sounds like a caricature of a woman describing a sexual experience that is generally more enjoyable for men as if it's actually what all women love and crave. to me, it reads as one of these three: an inexperienced adolescent writing about sex as explicitly as possible because teens do dumb shit a man writing out a fantasy an outlier woman who is just always as explicit as possible no matter what and loves really really rough sex none of those are things that should be used as a measu…

yeah... it's sad how often posts like that turn out to be fake or guy pretending to be girl (or vice versa, too, probably). some of it sounds sensible, but then there's things like the 3rd point, that are just so over the top. the dirty talk sounds pretty ridiculous as well, but that might just be because i don't like dirty talk at all.

i don't think they're super feminine, just more than some other men. i already noted that my tastes differ from most in this sub though.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/01/17 09:51 PM

so for those men out there who like to "make love" like some lame romance novel there's no reason both can't be enjoyable, just saying (and i'm pretty sure even romance novels include both rough and soft). some of us even just prefer it this way, and it's not at all lame or wrong. taking one woman's opinion and immediately assuming that all women are exactly like her and don't differ at all (so you can just go throwing them around at will because of one woman's post) is not smart.

i tend to prefer more feminine/pretty features, at least in comparison to most people here. i seem to be an odd one out, not being into hairy or burly guys that much. i have more feminine features as well. cute cute cute cuties. it's not a strict preference, but i tend to be more interested in guys with those features.

that sounds nice, but it's not true, by the admission of TRPers, even. it's a sexual strategy, a place for men who didn't learn how to be Real Men to go, yadda yadda yadda. it's not just some charitable Broken Divorced Man club. there are too many men lamenting about how jealous they are of the success of single women and how they want to emulate it (spin plates, don't catch feelings, it's just your turn because all women are whores!). or, how they hate that they chose to enter into a monogamous…

i would mostly focus on surviving end exploring. if i get really desperate i might make small talk with him, for my sanity, or even become friends... but not even that would force me to be attracted to him if he's an absolutel non-option from the start. i have been single, even for a long stretch of time before; i can get by just fine without someone else.

there are at least a portion of men here who range from indifferent to keen about cheating, usually citing "male nature" and/or "it's only cheating if a woman does it" as their excuse. i'm a little surprised at how many chose A to be honest, given some of the things these men have said in the past. it may be a result of them focusing on what she is or isn't doing (not wanting to share, lose, or be outdone) rather than considering the restrictions that would also be placed on them, though.

because men on this sub constantly say that unattractive women are still options for them for a night in "times of need". that is not how women feel about men they aren't attracted to, though. it's more akin to how straight men would feel about other men being options for them.

just as men would be to you, or any other man. you might not want to do the thing with another man, but you definitely can. it is an option. if the idea of this disgusts you to the degree that you consider other men absolute non-options, then it shouldn't be so hard for you to relate to how women feel about the prospect of getting with men they aren't attracted to.

there was a period of time where the sub was being flooded with incel posts, made by a couple of users who just wanted to complain and yell at people. they could have even been the same person. everyone complained about it because it made the sub a real drag, so now there are weekly designated incel threads instead, to prevent that from happening again. i wouldn't anticipate it since there's an entirely separate sub for circlejerking, where the rules are way more lax (and there's IRC, but i don't know how strict it is there vs. here since i don't participate). but, who knows. for a while no one thought the incel threads would end, and then... feedback was heard, and changes were made based on it.

i doubt it. the character is now closely linked to a very cool and very good looking guy. it's strange that this connection and resulting interest in the character is being overlooked or denied. do you really think if these men dressing up in costume started violently executing people in the streets on halloween, that it wouldn't immediately destroy their appeal and cause major problems in general? it shouldn't if they're just truly into the character, right?

because Jeffrey Dean Morgan is both awesome and handsome, and the walking dead is fictional so that character draws reactions differently than the real-life counterpart would. really, his popularity soared once he was portrayed on TV, so that's the answer: who is portraying him and how. that's what's so great about fiction; you can create and enjoy things that would be terrible if they were real or outside of your control (and you can stop anytime).

You don't get to decide if it's abusive. She knew the guy didn't want to hear from him. in the context of this thread, using the information we have, i certainly do. messaging someone on a dating site is not abusive behavior and if it was, she would have been removed from the site as well. When a surplus of men lose out, it causes problems because they become jaded and demotivated to work, and they turn to things like TRP that basically tell them to let the world burn. Just because these guys are invisible to you doesn't mean the problems don't exist. this isn't most people, though, and if someone exercises their right to give up, why do we need to step in? and if we did step in, how would we fix the problem without taking something away from someone else? if your only solution is…

i hadn't really thought about it much (we have a good relationship) but i think everyone understands generally that things do get kind of consolidated upon marriage even if they don't consider the specifics or obsess over it. this is why it's important to find someone you feel like you can safely enter into such an agreement with, or just don't do it.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/01/17 01:22 PM

nah, i don't think so. unless you have something other than what's in the OP to discuss. the OP kind of boils down to some men thinking "i can't use money or a degree to wield power over women and now i also have to be interesting and fun! oh no..." i know it can be hard, and that part, i have sympathy for. i lose that sympathy when those same men start talking about taking away opportunities for women to their lives are easier (which they eventually do).

even TRP has pointed out that women don't really care for men who make less than them, which makes sense; a small difference in salary is okay for most relationships, but a wide gap is problematic. most people, men and women, don't want to financially carry another person alone, if they can even afford to do so at all. just because women don't need a 'provider' anymore doesn't make being a dumb chad a smart strategy for all encounters or relationships with women. dumb chad sounds pretty low valu…

The issue is that a lot of people who make a distinction do it to asses the easiness of the woman. this, i agree with. i used to do it too, until i realized it was kind of silly to do that. If the guy is someone she knew for a while before dating him, I don't see why getting to more drinks makes her more difficult. i guess because it keeps the men who say this from getting what they want. women having standards that these men don't want to have to meet = "difficult women". just like a woman focu…

I know it's hard to approach girls, because girls usually don't approach guys, and I know girls aren't as attracted to guys as guys are to girls, which has root in evolutionary biology, but I can't really offer anything besides friendship. , and even offering friendship is hard, because I don't wanna lead you on and think there's a chance for more. People say flippant things all the time , is it really outside the realm of possibility that some woman somewhere , possibly from a different regional, class, and educational background from you said those things? IMO it's extremely common did i say that no woman anywhere, ever, has ever said it? can you show me where i made such a claim? if you can't, then i guess you were just making up things that i said, and i don't need to bother with you anymore.

What part don't you understand? I thought I was being clear. Please explain what words you're not getting. if you're going your own way from women and not advocating for anybody else to do the same, then they should not post online about MGTOW. But if you ARE advocating for men to do the same, it's totally reasonable to go online and talk about MGTOW all the time. It seems really simple and I can't fathom why you keep repeating the same mistaken idea that everyone involved in MGTOW shouldn't tal…

Why can't you advocate for MGTOW while simultaneously being MGTOW? because you're not actually going your own way then; you are still, directly or indirectly, focused on the thing you claimed to be going your own way from. I'm trying to think of some explanation for your stance that isn't really dumb. careful now. A person could go MGTOW, discover that it significantly improves his life. So he thinks "wow, this rocks! You can provide examples or hypothetical, or discuss in general what might separate one example/hypothetical from another and how that might warrant different responses. It is physically impossible to trust this 100% for any man. I understand that you cannot understand that as a female. then if you fear this so greatly, don't have kids. no one is forcing you to, and some might even celebrate your decision not to do something that is causing you so much unease and stress (which will inevitably drag your new family down with you). or, buy your own damn test if you can't control yourself enough to be responsible and not make children with women you don't trust.

the only kind of similar thing i can think of to compare it to is regular or even frequent STD testing in a monogamous LTR/marriage. i doubt any of the men demanding paternity tests (assuming they actually are monogamous) would have a calm, accepting response to being repeatedly tested and doubted and hassled and humiliated and insulted like this.

if you can't trust anyone and you have all these weird "if you loved me" games going on, then you should break up, or stay single. few here will argue that two people who hate and distrust each other so much should be together, much less make a baby.

i might not get a test, depending; i'd be fine with adoption too though, so i might not be the norm here, not sure. my husband's input would also matter, which could change things. ultimately, this isn't a great parallel though, as it was a hospital error. the only reason to demand a paternity test from a woman you might have made a kid with is because you think they're dishonest and unfaithful.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/01/17 12:15 AM

because adults are expected to make informed decisions, like whether or not to enter into a relationship or make a baby with someone they trust. if you don't have that trust in someone, don't fucking do it. i swear, some of you act like you're being forced to do all this; you're not. don't get married or into a relationship. don't get someone pregnant or become a parent. problem solved.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/01/17 12:11 AM

it depends on the situation/relationship, but there are a bunch of reasons i can think of; they're sick, they're tired, they're upset, they're not attracted, they just don't wanna. if we're talking specifically situations where a woman said this and still went ahead i'd guess that she was teasing or the outcome of rejecting (general) you was worse than just getting it over with.

it'll make her think twice before sleeping with you or staying with you at all, too. just come out with it and tell her you don't trust her at all, and don't even bother trying to pose it as something that's in anyone's interest aside from yours. makes it easy, right?

since all a man can do is guess oh, come on. there are all kinds of things a man can do to avoid this situation; it's not just "oh well, here we go, hope i don't get her pregnant/end up with someone who would lie about that kind of thing". don't be ridiculous. not getting someone pregnant or examining the character of a person are both really, really easy. do you really believe the men in the situations in the OP are poor hapless beings who had no power other than to "guess"?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/01/17 07:33 PM

this doesn't seem unreasonable, as far as any other options might go, so long as there's no harm done by the test. it's not a stretch for a woman to believe that a man asking for a paternity test doubts and doesn't trust her, but this would be a way to avoid that conversation altogether (falling behind only the very obvious not getting someone pregnant, and being wise about who you get pregnant). though, the additional cost associated with this doesn't sound great. i certainly don't want any par…

most people don't live like that. why someone who identifies with an ideology that claims to love reality and harsh truths would glorify and idolize people "living in a little lie", i don't know. i mean really, what a so-called BP way of thinking.

you already noted the thing that makes it imperfect, though. what person would trade being with someone they love and have a faithful, honest relationship with for all the "makings" of a good marriage (except for TRP men and the status-obsessed)? you've described people with a lot of material things and concern for how the world views them, but not much of anything about their care for each other, if there's much there at all.

Yet when these beauty threads come up women start posting literal landwhales and fat feminist "models" and call them beautiful. i've never seen threads like that, nor comments like the ones you've described. at most, the women here respond to the opinions expressed by the men replying to those threads. if you have an example you're free to share it though.

it's pseudo-blame; the same kind of thinking that people use when they're asked what mistakes they made in dating, and respond with, "ah, i'm so bad, i was just too nice to those jerks." it's dishonest; i think you know this.

Disagree. Churches are filled with SJWs who don't say diddly squat about women having sex or with who. Most single women in church have had premarital sex. Might not all be sluts, but some sure are, and they are never called out, ever. The South? I don' t think so. Women from the south have sex just like women everywhere else, and arent' shamed for it. They get their white weddings just like every other woman does. They are. You're not a man so you don't know what this is like and just how oppre…

Your simple solution isn't that simple on the other hand. The idea that "a loving married monogamist relationship is life's ultimate goal" is so ingrained that many men won't ever admit they're polygamous by nature (and we are, no exceptions), will be led to believe otherwise because of something RP labels "scarcity mentality", and will ultimately make a mess on their heads. it's pretty simple to be aware of what you want, and weigh the pros and cons of a thing. the push towards marriage and mon…

Not in real life. yes, in real life, and even from very young in places like church, or just the south, which has and has had some questionable methods of teaching sex ed. it's been discussed in past threads, but i welcome any other women to confirm this as well, in this thread, for this discussion. it happens in this sub, all the time. This is reddit. It's not real life. This is people also discussing relationships and sex more or less "academically" and theoretically. And besides, who the fuck…

if you're polygamous, just don't get in a relationship where monogamy is expected (or in a relationship at all). easy peasy. don't promise yourself to one woman and continue sleeping with many, and then get mad at the woman for expecting you to keep up your end of the agreement you willfully entered into. unless you think men are totally untrustworthy and incapable of keeping their word, which is a whole other problem/discussion.

I really dont' know where this comes from. Men are not allowed to shame women for ANYTHING. Men are especially not allowed to shame women for having sex with other men. they are, all the time. it happens in this sub, all the time. you're not a woman so you probably don't notice it to the same degree, but men and society do still lay on the guilt for this kind of thing. just because it's to a lesser degree these days and women can shrug it off easier doesn't mean it doesn't still happen. in this sub, i don't think any of those descriptors are clearly defined enough to even answer your question. alpha badboy chad ranges from a high earning person who is assertive and sets/maintains boundaries to essentially hot street thugs or even just broke, cute musicians. people define these things differently, so what you're describing may or may not even be what's going on.

The real question here then is why would you start a fight with someone you know is stronger than you in the first place? people are stupid. that doesn't give other people free license to go beating the shit out of them. Whoever instigates the violence is responsible for their consequences. sure. but "consequences" covers a lot of things, no? it's weird that you can't fathom a woman believing childbearing is wonderful, but also experiencing suffering during the pregnancy or birthing. neither pregnancy nor giving birth are small matters, and it kind of follows that if you're growing a person inside you and then pushing it out, it's gonna involve some discomfort and pain no matter how much of a blessing you think it is (and that doesn't even account for hormones). hell, women have died during childbirth; it's not like having a headache…

"insufferable bitch" isn't the same as being overweight or a heroin addict; it's far more insulting and negative (you know this). party girl/slut isn't necessarily or inherently bad, and even if it were, it's still not the same thing. we could go in circles with you trying to defend this, but i think my point's pretty clear (and this is pulling away from the discussion) so it won't be necessary to do so.

i guess it depends. i think my husband and i have non-verbal ways of asking or checking with each other, rather than just pouncing. he doesn't need to verbalize it, because we have an established level of comfort with each other and don't need to speak to communicate. but if it was someone i was only dating and/or hadn't been with long? yeah, verbalizing (and posing it as more of a desire rather than declaring or demanding) is needed in the absence of the level of familiarity you have in an LTR/…

... or that TRP only does what they do to look more important and impressive in the eyes of other men. you don't have to be gay to want that, and it's not that weird of an impression to have of TRP given how much of trheir "tips" do involve competition with men and goals that other men would find impressive (as far as TRP believes, anyway).

but how many of these things don't just fall into the general category of "good manners to use around people"? is there a problem with following the tips in the articles? if these are the kinds of things that people have to write in relation to being respectful towards women, it follows, to me, that maybe lots of women are being treated with less respect just for being women (to the degree that articles with general good manners are now articles about how to respect women).

this should be in our sidebar, honestly. for whatever reason TRPers choose to think it's about worshipping people and that only, even though the "please be respectful" warnings in libraries and movie theaters are obviously not telling everyone they need to bow down and praise the greatness of everyone else in the room.

there's nothing extraordinary about keeping your hands to yourself, and hopefully we never reach such a low point that it becomes extraordinary. i've never seen a group of people cry so much about having to not act like jackasses, and expecting awards for doing the bare minimum. i've seen people criticize the "everyone's a winner" kind of teaching that is given to some children and didn't much see the problem, but i wonder if it's that kind of thing that led to this kind of thinking, where being…

LOL "Some men cheat all the time" is a far cry from "men cheat all the time". some men, men, same thing. it's not like i said you claimed that every single man cheats, without a doubt, either. it seems pretty clear neither of us were talking in absolutes on that point. No, there's no real commitment a GF has to a BF or vice versa. That's not real commitment. You can get out of that relationship merely by saying you're out. Yeah. Real "commitment" there. well i guess this opinion makes you an out…

Link to where I say "men cheat all the time". What I have said, and what I will stand by, is that some men cheat all the time. you did the work for me! yay. Are you saying most women get cheated on? Really? Most married women's husbands cheat on them? so if you're the only one who gets no help (in your opinion), why are you saying that four people would starve and freeze to death and at the same time, get handouts from everyone? if anything, that should give you peace, that should the worst happen, you would still have a lifeline as a family (assuming it stayed together instead of them leaving, as you mentioned).

This notion you have that men cheat all the time is mentally ill. Most men do not cheat, because they can't. it's not my notion, it's yours. i've seen you specifically say this, and then hamster away that it's not infidelity and it doesn't matter and hooray for unfaithful men. Bullshit that cheating for men is not difficult. Most men cannot cheat because they aren't attractive enough or ballsy enough. She'll work for a while. Until she gets married. Then she'll have endless options and choices. this isn't really an option for most people, especially if they have children. I think you mean women. Because women do. And women do that, because they can. no, it's definitely about men and how they'll cheat as long as they're able to (which really isn't that hard, despite claims otherwise). being cheated on is definitely a manner of rejection to a lot of women, aside from the normal rejections that …

Women do not "have" to work. Women can choose to work. except for a select lucky few, this is not the case. women still have to work to support themselves, especially since in general, people are waiting longer to get married. it's not common anymore for a woman to get married right out of the home she grew up in to a man who will take care of her for life to the degree that she never has to work. why do you choose this fantasy when you know how unrealistic it is? Im talking about the low quality people Others are vetting against, what do they do? i don't know. if i have some sort of example, i might be able to answer more clearly. people can be low quality for all kinds of reasons, or they can be a fine quality and simply be incompatible. can you quote where i said TRP doesn't ever talk about working out or trying to improve yourself? even when i did spend time at TBP, "just lift" was jokingly mentioned as a catch-all solution to problems because that's basically what TRP considered The Answer To Everything. it's still not novel or a TRP invention just because they talk about it, and if it were just a fitness/improvement sub, do you think it would be so widely criticized and mocked?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/01/17 01:36 AM
9

i don't see anyone mocking guys for working out and trying to improve (aside from maybe a few extreme people there; i haven't been to TBP in a few months so if it's changed, i'm not aware). the joke is not that the guy improved himself, it's that it's being presented on TRP as some completely never-before-seen idea when it's advice and good sense that has existed forever.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/01/17 01:30 AM

plenty of people say that TRP is just those old views repackaged. TRP isn't being criticized for inventing them, but clinging desperately to them.

I'm all for people practicing self-control, but it's still a faulty argument when you say "why can't they just control themselves" when you don't take into consideration that they basically having to fight their natural, biological urges in order to do that. i have a "people" job, where i'm getting yelled at and insulted on a daily basis by complainers, sometimes when i'm not even in the office. my natural urge is to shout right back, but because i like paying bills and having a job with a littl…

Other women have said pretty much the same things. Perhaps you didn't actually fuck alpha dudes, but you apparently were attracted to them. where is that apparent? and how are we defining alpha here? i literally said that my only high school boyfriend was beta by RP standards. Unfortunately, for men, that's not how it works. However, if that happened again i doubt i would be as lenient as i was back when i was 17. i don't see how this is "not how it works" just because you're a man. there's no gender-specific way of shielding yourself from incoming hits or trying to get away. men might be more successful at it if they're up against someone smaller or weaker, but that aside, i don't see a difference. it's just normal to try and protect yourself.

Honesty and authenticity. Men usually get face blemishes from work. It's a point of pride for a man to have callused hands. plenty of men get embarrassed at blemishes, and they're not suddenly women for doing so. there's no shame in wanting to have clear skin or show off a clear face to the world (some of the most famous actors and public faces wear makeup frequently for this very reason, even channing tatum and brad pitt). some men don't care about having callused hands and for some, they could…

my comment has nothing to do with feminism. i'm just pointing out that TRPers claim that all men turn pushy or rapist around women due to their nature and "being a man" but also say that women are always lying about rape even though they claim that men act the exact way TRPers insist men act. but hey, if you want to align yourself with a view so inconsistent, with no regard for how ridiculous it makes you look, have at it.

i don't think the assumption was necessarily "woman right, man wrong"; people just picked up on which party was in a state to be taken advantage of, and commented on the likelihood of the story. a drunk woman is undoubtedly weaker than a football player in most cases. the question of consent also came up, and along with it, the absurd notion that consent loses meaning as the number of men a woman agrees to sex with increases. having sex with anyone without their consent is rape, so people rightf…

if men have a problem rating their own attractiveness, that is going to affect how they view the standards of other people, just like /u/rulenumber303 said in their comment. what they view as unrealistic might actually be normal but they just can't see it because their perception is warped.

if they didn't go on about how it's just sex, any sex, they want, then i might agree with you. but until you suggest something like prostitutes, they themselves give the impression that any hole will do, and they are celibate because they literally have no choice in the matter. if that's not true and not what they want people to think, maybe they should stop spewing so much bullshit.

if she's not enjoying it either way, what does it matter? at least a prostitute knows how to give an experience; honestly, that sounds better than the options that this guy would have outside of prostitution, a provided service where you have a better chance of getting what you want. as long as it's safe and consensual, the prostitute sounds better.

we really do need a game though it'll have to be picked pretty carefully if anyone wants it to last, haha.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/16 09:01 PM

that won't happen either. the percentage will remain about the same, i'm sure. i know it's convenient to say that women having choice is destroying the world and women are responsible for the actions of everyone, but, no.

it won't.

how do you get excited about someone without spending time with them? how do you learn whether or not you like them without being around them? sometimes it takes a date or two to get a feel for someone. this is not a devastating thing, it's normal dating. if you are devastated by not getting a third date, perhaps you aren't ready to be dating.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/16 06:28 PM

the front page just looks like /r/creepypms with different subject matter. i wouldn't use /r/creepypms as an example of all men or women; you're gonna have to try harder, or provide examples that aren't just opinion or comics or whatever (i said legitimate examples).
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/16 06:25 PM

it's mostly people here pointing it out when some men insist that a woman's looks are all that matter about her and nothing else, ever, period. unattractive and attractive people alike recognize how stupid and weird that is and call it out. the end. OTOH, manospherians are always complaining about women having the choice to date people they're attracted to, so i think you have the wrong target.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/16 06:20 PM

i don't know how being fat = having no money either. like there aren't fat CEOs or millionaires out there, haha. guess the idea of a woman being fat and even moderately successful is too much.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/16 05:49 PM

i don't think you understand dating. you don't always know without a doubt whether or not someone is perfect for you. that's why you test the waters with going on dates (dating).
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/16 05:45 PM

What he's saying is that women's most valued asset for attracting men for dating, sex and marriage is their bodies/physical appearances. That is simply a fact. It's not opinion, it's FACT. yeah, we really do need that post teaching people how to distinguish fact from opinion. it's apparently necessary.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/16 05:31 PM

It was training because the instructor first taught strange how to conjure and when he couldn't do it completely she escalated it to a point where he would be forced to. yes, meaning that the training is not what enabled him to use his powers, just like training is not what enabled rey to use her powers. With that it became more believable to see him control the EYE. no, he was never taught to use the eye at all, which was infinitely more powerful than anything else he had used throughout the mo…

men are still widely celebrated even if TRPers aren't. unsurprisingly, it requires some effort and success to get there, though.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/16 12:05 AM

it's a huge stretch to call it training. and if you'll call that training, being abandoned in a situation where your life depends on using your powers to save you, then rey received training through the same experience (which may be even more impressive given that no one actually told her how to use it, and she still did).

constant drawling on about how devastating and harrible society is, in a way that regularly makes me question if you're trying to parody a moody teen. also, shoehorning in personal interests or experiences etc. where they have little to no relevance, just to let everyone know about them and attempt to garner a (positive) response.

They showed him learning how to use magic starting with his ring. the rest can be learned from there. the analogy is Doctor strange had SOME training first before he began using anything magical. it wasn't the training that made him able to use powers, it was being thrown out in the cold basically wearing scrubs. he only used his powers in the end because he would have died, so any training he got is irrelevant. he may as well have been left on the mountain after just being told how to move his …

no, he didn't. he didn't master his powers through training, he managed to finally properly use them in a situation of emergency, because he would have died otherwise, not unlike rey. and there's nothing showing he underwent any training for the eye of agamotto, he just picked it up and literally read instructions off a page, and then saved the world, using the eye with remarkable ease. in fact, he used the eye way with far more ease and frequency than rey ever used the lightsaber or the force. …

you asked them for their preferences; i don't think anyone was saying men absolutely had to check every single box on the list, that was an ideal. you seem to be asking why men they aren't attracted to can't do things they find unattractive, but they already weren't attracted to the guy so as long as he's not hurting, pressuring, exploiting, and/or raping people, i doubt anyone cares. the attraction/interest isn't there either way. this is also because most guys are doing alright, and not all dy…

i don't think so... it's pretty easy to buy gifts if you just pay attention to the person. most people aren't secretive about their interests. i could see it being worse if you went with just "men's tastes" or "women's tastes" instead of considering the recipient as an individual though.

it seems telling that you're the type to talk about the "prime, fertile year" of women, though. the problem may not be your height alone, if this is any indicator of how you view and/or approach women. that, and talking as if your life is over at 19...

they can, but really tall guys would have to bend over more, and then i'd feel weird being that much smaller. my husband leans over a little at best; if a guy had to bend down to kiss or hug me when we're both standing, that would just feel awkward and uncomfortable to me. the hugs i've tried (and failed) to execute gracefully with my few extra-tall friends is proof enough :/ it's just not for me.

i'm not exclusively attracted to guys taller than me; it's just the default, usually. most guys are taller than me. but, anything more than 5'11" is too much for me (about half a foot taller). i know a couple of people who are much taller than me and met someone like that at my husband's office Christmas party, and there is definitely a "too tall" for me. i don't wear heels, and at some point things like kissing get more difficult. no thanks.

yeah, even his max level (160 lbs) sounds excessive. a guy this height can likely still look really good at 130-140 (at most). muscle and bulk beyond that seems like it would just make his dating pool even smaller, because of how bulky it would be.

it's pretty ridiculous to think that only people engaging in casual sex love sex (and it sounds pretty personal here, honestly). again, stop using a few examples or made up stories from TRP to try and explain women as a whole. even you must see how stupid an argument that is.

But also, men don't care about women unless sex is involved, and never be alone with men or drink because you will definitely get fucked by someone you didn't want to have sex with and it will be all your fault." - TRPers, all the time. and no, anyone having sex with another person that didn't consent is a rapist regardless.

the OP is about hitting on women, which is why i brought it up. it's in context with the statement before it, that TRPers (and lots of other men) have either said that men only talk to women for sex, or made it so that any interaction with a woman may or may not give a guy the wrong impression (making this statement a convenient way to shut it down even outside of bars/being hit on). hell, in a thread the other day, someone proposed that women should make a rejection the first thing they say to …
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/16 04:33 PM
3

please point out where i said it was all of male/female interactions
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/16 03:56 PM
4

TRPers are the ones that keep telling everyone that men absolutely only talk to women for sex or if they're forced to for work, and that women are otherwise nothing to men. someone hitting on you at a bar probably isn't interested in your soul either.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/16 02:39 PM
4

the follow up to "sorry i'm not interested" is always "why not?" or "how could you not be?", and sometimes guys end up asking these questions out loud. i don't want to have a conversation with the guy about it, or console him; i just want him to go away. so if i can avoid that conversation and reject him in a way that doesn't feel personal to him or prompt those questions, why wouldn't i?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/16 02:24 PM
5

i'd just assume we were having a regular platonic conversation after this, given that i brought up my boyfriend and you acknowledged it. it wouldn't win you anything, just saying. it would still be a waste of time if you're just looking for some girl for the night.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/16 01:45 PM

this is why no one takes TRPers seriously.

there's a big difference between not treating them like garbage, and going on dates with them, getting to know their friends (or even family), and being a boyfriend in every way except the name/commitment. depending on how the subject is approached, you may very well be saying you don't want commitment while your actions strongly say otherwise. you don't have to be shitty to someone to be clear, and suggesting this is necessary sounds like a feeble excuse at best. communicate, don't lead people …
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/16 02:00 AM

if they didn't settle, there wouldn't be a problem. the article makes it pretty clear that the confusion is with the inconsistency of their words and actions, so it's the men that they're getting that idea from. women intentionally using "orbiters" is pretty similar.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/16 01:38 AM
4

A guy going through the "motions of being a boyfriend" but not offering commitment...isn't that just people doing what people do now in the modern SMP? get in "relationships" without wanting to be tied down by commitment? i mean, maybe in the early days; it would be weird to demand commitment from day one. but most people generally expect some sort of progress or exclusivity after a period of time. of course, there are some who agree to a non-exclusive thing happily, but that's not even close to…

reading the article, it sounds like she's talking about men who go through all the motions of being in a relationship with the girl and keep things ambiguous in regard to the future/their intentions. if someone acts like your boyfriend and acts like they care for you despite saying they don't want commitment every now and then, to someone who cares for them a lot and finds themselves wanting more, i easily see how that's confusing and painful for the other party, if words and actions are so inco…

the selectivity you guys exercise when it comes to the Huffington Post is... interesting. i don't see this as controversial; it's just telling women who aren't getting what they want from a relationship to get out of it, and stop holding out. it's good advice for anyone. it can be really damaging to have a pretend relationship with someone who won't commit when you want more. no doubt, the author also feels defensive of her clients as well, which colored her writing. is "ladies, don't get strung…

eventually dismissing and ignoring someone's feelings is going to backfire (and/or really damage them)... and this is really just a way for you to avoid taking responsibility for what you've done when you screw up. TRP, everyone.

oh, boy. i wish i knew at 18 that trying to plan anything was a waste of time. not much of what i had in mind has happened, but it's been interesting at least, haha. marriage... i thought/dreamed about it a lot when i was young, then swore it off for a while after a bad breakup. i met someone who wanted to get married after being together for a while, but i still didn't like the idea of marriage, and didn't want to agree just to appease him (knowing how unsatisfactory that would be for us both).…

i think so, leaning towards yes to both (but i admit i don't know much about paternity testing). the (hypothetical) idea of even non-invasive tests being run on a child i co-created with someone, without my knowledge or the kid's knowledge, seems like a major breach of trust and boundaries. but i can only really apply it to my own relationship, so, that's also why.

i haven't dated in a while... but depending on where you're getting your dates from, it seems like it can be a gamble. you might end up with a great date, a scary date, or a sitcom material date. that, and the wishy-washy, non-answers about what the relationship is (after additional dates/time together). i don't need a 5-year plan, but if there's no intention of anything serious, ever, just say so. yes, non-commitment might end up hurting either way. but being up front (not rude, just up front) …

/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/16 06:39 PM
3

Well, would you? Why? Why not? the chances of this being absolutely necessary seem slim, and it's hard to say without a doubt because i don't know exactly how i might react in the face of such a situation. but... yeah, i think i would, if i could. i love him and if this meant protecting him... seems obvious. Is it a reasonable for a man to expect his wife or a woman that loves him to die for him? expect? perhaps not. that's a really lofty expectation that someone might not be able to meet even i…

sometimes you get stuck with people, and/or they take advantage of their position (like the guy constantly hitting on a waitress who's pretty much required to be nice to him no matter what).
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/16 05:11 PM

/u/femmejean can you clarify? there are definitely varying ideas of what is or isn't straightforward in this sub, so we might all be discussing different things. can you provide some examples of straightforward and not straightforward to frame this discussion around?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/16 03:38 PM

it would be nice if OP gave an example of straightforward and not straightforward. i'm guessing it varies based on his feelings... but it would be a better discussion with examples.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/16 02:51 PM

according to the men here, women are either annoying meek princesses or straightforward masculine bitches. there is no winning. so, just realize that not everyone who is nice to you is into you, even if you're into them (and want them to return your feelings). i used to do the same thing; it really does just take a little awareness and asking yourself if they're just nice or actually interested in you instead of assuming they are. if an interviewer is nice to you, it doesn't mean you got the job…
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/16 01:36 PM

i mean, they start screaming and crying the moment women say they want a partner in their same salary range... but sure, women are awful harpies for wanting to be seen as human beings rather than just a collection of body parts or a product for male consumption. poor men, you know?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/16 01:24 PM
1

this anecdote is irrelevant. if men are so confused about whether or not a woman is genuinely resisting sex, and when consent is revoked or unclear that they cannot stop themselves from having sex with a woman just because it seems like "it was heading there", then you all need supervision at all times. these were your words and your claims about the capabilities of men, not mine.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/16 12:55 PM
1

if something as simple as this confuses you, you all need chaperones. you are not to be trusted alone with women, or anyone. (i don't believe all men have this problem, but you seem convinced that men are incapable of understanding and adapting to even the simplest of situations.)
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/16 03:29 AM
7

you're not looking at facts, you're ignoring the facts and instead speculating hard in the favor of those men with some "what if" bullshit. it's clear to pretty much everyone else here that she wasn't fine and they were predators, if not rapists.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/16 12:38 AM
3

you're really stretching to defend these guys.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/16 12:06 AM
5

i'm suddenly reminded of the "women need to scream no at the top of their lungs if they don't consent" conversation from a few weeks ago. according to the TRPers in that discussion, this was totally fine and consensual sex because the guy wasn't screamed at and clubbed over the head or whatever.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/12/16 10:43 PM

you accuse her of being a shitty friend for not assuming they were rapists today, but then tomorrow... but why does the world think all men are rapists and creeps so unfair, world -TRPers

I know grabbing and throwing them around (in the bedroom) is a thing women love though? Kinda fits with the whole stereotype that women love rough sex. 1) not all women love that, so don't just do it to someone assuming that they do. 2) this wasn't in the bedroom, it was in public, in bars, grabbing women who couldn't fight back and hugging them, shoving faces in crotches, and so on.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/12/16 09:29 PM
3

probably. that, and a lack of understanding/willingness to accept what is or isn't consent.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/12/16 09:17 PM

yeah, those women, not having designated drivers; that's what they get.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/12/16 09:13 PM

from the OP it sounds like rape; face down in vomit sounds either unconscious or close to it, to me (also shady that this happened the minute the friend left). i haven't read much PUA stuff recently, but i'm not sure they're much to blame, if at all. i remember a lot of terrible stuff, but i don't think this was part of it (at least part of instruction, anyway; seems like there have been a few stories like this involving PUAs themselves though). edit: ah, i remember this article. yes, rape. edit…

how often do women even need guys to save them? in lots of places, pretty much never these days. even if they did, though, there are a lot of compassionate people who would still step up to help someone else (sorry to break your fantasy)...

if you think "he could have a disease or differing values in regard to sex" and "she's a dumb worthless piece of shit that's good for nothing but a pump and dump lolol" are the same, then what is the point of continuing? you obviously just want to cry shaming no matter what; do it at someone else.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/12/16 06:33 PM
2

"sluts are scum/worthless beings/the scourge of the earth." you can find variations of this sentiment throughout the manosphere. if you're denying this, that's pretty disingenuous and clearly there won't be any further need to engage with you.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/12/16 05:20 PM

yeah, maybe. i don't know that it's a sign they get a lot of attention online or don't just enjoy cutesy names, but sure, some women probably do this. in fact, a lot of people choose their usernames just for the things it will show about them to other people (in addition to often just liking their own username, or what it stands for). is it often argued otherwise? this is presented as some kind of astounding revelation but...
/r/PurplePillDebate14/12/16 03:32 PM
2

Sounds exactly like how people defend against accusations of slut shaming. and as long as they're not actually shaming someone, they'd be right in their defense. Just saying he's pathetic, undesirable, has a disease probably, is definitely going to be a bad partner, etc. i didn't see pathetic, but maybe i overlooked it. it's possible he's undesirable or could contract a disease, or could be a bad partner to some women if his values are incompatible with theirs. these are not controversial opinio…

what a weird thing to say.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/12/16 02:12 PM

nope, i don't think it's okay. if it's that bad, end it. the only situation i see it potentially being okay in is if there's a discussion and both partners are truly okay with it, but that seems different from cheating to me (and i think it's rare, at least from what i've seen).
/r/PurplePillDebate14/12/16 02:00 PM
5

shaming =/= having a preference. no one is attacking this guy or actively trying to stop them from seeing a (safe) hooker; they're just passing on the guy. for a group that accuses others of shaming so constantly, i expect you to actually know the definition.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/12/16 01:39 PM

for the millionth time, no one cares if you just prefer non-promiscuous women. it's the guys who treat them like subhumans, or call them disgusting for being promiscuous when they themselves are promiscuous that get called out, not just a dude looking for someone with similar values or having a preference that he isn't shoving down everyone's throat/isn't attacking those that are outside his preference over.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/12/16 01:37 PM

eh, i don't think there's any guarantee he'd be better-skilled, though he may or may not be better at adapting to the needs of new partners (which is a plus). but even if that were the case, it's a sure sign that we don't have the same values, though, and potentially... gross and risky. i might be friends with him, depending on who he is; wouldn't want to be another name on the list though.

i think this is more my thinking on it. i'm not impressed if a guy manages to sleep with a lot of girls, so him choosing a prostitute doesn't make him seem like a loser because he couldn't do it in a "natural" way; he just can't control himself, to that degree. if he can't get anyone at all, it is a little weird or perhaps he's seriously underestimating himself (major self esteem issues). but no, i'm not going to think he's a loser just because he doesn't have a high count; super high count guy …

Meh. TRP's not for everyone. If you're a man and you are getting what you want/need in your relationships, and you haven't been raked over the coals, dumped 17 times in a row, been sex deprived, or divorce raped, you're probably OK. TRP loves dramatics, so i don't believe that any of these things are legitimately what happened for most of the men complaining there (though some actually do get the worst of it). sex deprived = one night, she was too tired after work, and cooking, and cleaning, to …

good grief. that second to last guy basically looks like a cartoon. no, he's really extreme, and the group he would appeal to is limited as a result. you're also underestimating just how important personality is to a lot of women, as usual. these threads really just serve to display the lack of knowledge that TRPers have about this.

Most people do garden, or they do some sort of work to improve their home. If you've ever owned a house, you would know that there is always work that needs to be done. Electrical, plumbing, air conditioner and heating are in constant need of repair or improvements. As soon as you finish upgrading one bathroom, you need to upgrade the second. i own a house, and have owned more than one. don't be an ass. they didn't require much repairing or upgrading because the houses were chosen wisely. they w…

this isn't a fair question, as lots of people don't garden, or live in snowy regions, household repairs and renovations aren't frequent. they're basically on the same level, in a lot of situations. as usual, TRPers pedestalizing men.

i think a lot of TRP stuff is silly or just wrong, so i'm not red pill. i don't agree with some of the judgments nor do i enjoy the constant outrage over at TBP, though, so i'm not really blue pill either. blue-flaired people are often lumped in with actual TBPers, so i just use a black/gray flair now.

yeah, i wouldn't say i'm offended, but i don't see the housework as masculine or feminine either. we both wash dishes, we both cook, mop, do laundry. there are some things he does because he's stronger than me, but that's the reason, not being male.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/12/16 02:07 AM

i mean, i don't disagree that the division of housework has grown now that both women and men work to bring home money. that makes sense. i suppose some relationships involve some animosity about it, maybe... but i can't say i have, or anyone that i know has. everyone pulls their weight, and it's not a big deal. when i lived with my (now) husband and his roommate, roommate had to clean up after himself too. at most, someone doesn't do something the other person wants them to do, so the wanting p…

to add to this... i happened to see a video once of a guy laughing and filming his dog in the snow, and he wasn't even in the video but he had such a great laugh that i instantly wanted to know more (turned out, he was cute too). there are a lot of different simple things about both men and women that men and women can find attractive and/or interesting, and sometimes it's not even about looks.

i don't see what good it would do for her to feel guilty; she made a decision that brought the intended outcome to her and her boyfriend, after having unprotected sex that she admits was irresponsible. if she knew she couldn't raise the child and didn't want to, it seems to me that going ahead and having an unwanted kid you can't provide much of a life for would be pretty irresponsible too. i don't disagree with her that abortion is often discussed as a very emotional, heavy subject (which it de…

i see people say that women should use birth control all the time, and if she's getting an abortion, she probably already knows that (and/or she did and it failed). no use pointing it out, especially since it's not like abortions are super fun alternatives to other birth control. there aren't many choosing that as their first and only form of birth control. on the other hand, even when people are arguing in favor of legal paternal surrender, there are a bunch of men here mad that they have to us…

i agree that people should be encouraged to speak up and stop activity that they're not comfortable with... but in this particular case, it's pretty clear that the guy knew she wasn't alright but pushed ahead because he just wanted to get off. if you totally disregard the signs of discomfort that your partner is showing/vocalizing because caring or stopping means you won't get to finish, then you shouldn't be sexually active either.
