Thefts are charged and convicted all the time without any physical evidence - but that feels beside the point. I get it - any answer here potentially hurts the cause. If yes - then an avalanche of counter evidence gets thrown your way. If no - then why all this effort toward something that is, potentially, a marginal problem. It’s cowardly but it’s certainly strategic - so congrats, you win.

They absolutely are both illegal acts. But, like theft, it’s important to know if false-victim reporting occurs more frequently than actual occurrences. That doesn’t mean we should ignore one side - but it certainly indicates where we should spend our resources.

Your position is that it doesn't matter if one happens more than the other - but it clearly does. If we are going to create any form of policy in an attempt to prevent an issue - we need to know if one side of an issue is more significant/problematic than the other.

A false choice is forcing someone to choose between two options with the underlying condition that by choosing one - you can’t choose the other. I never said anything about denying this is a problem. I asked about a hierarchy that of choice. Is this a more significant issue? There is nothing difficult about answering that question.
