Yeah, it's a powerful book. I really like how he defines and describes self esteem at the beginning. He says something like: "If I trust my mind and my judgement and ability, then I am more likely to operate as a thinking being and face challenges through to their end. Exercising these capabilities, my life works better. And creating a life that works better for me reinforces and builds upon my trust in myself. But if I distrust my abilities, then I am more likely to be mentally passive and not …

Hey, me too. I'm the exact same.

It's not creepy. You will not come off as creepy. I remember there was a large /r/askwomen thread where tons of girls chimed in and talked about what they thought was creepy and not creepy. Every comment said basically the same thing. Creepy is when someone completely ignores social cues, and harasses women after its readily apparent that they were quite uncomfortable. Not creepy is a well adjusted individual saying hello at a social gathering. That's not you. I can only assume that you are a we…

I really like the philosophy here. Just showing subtle signs of interest but keeping out low key. I kind of feel like it would be hard to balance this attitude with actually escalating and making things happen though. I've just hung out with girls in the kind of way your describing plenty of times, and it never got me anywhere except maybe once. How do you reconcile being casual and disinterested with being interested enough to lead and make things happen?

"Your smile makes me feel like I'm diving into a swimming pool filled with a thousand puppies." Lol. No, but I'll definitely try it. Sounds fun.

I'm 21, and it was perfect for me. Exactly how I intend to spend my time, but don't because of laziness.

Yeah, I never really even intend to try to pick a cashier up or anything. Just say something to add a little spice to our interaction. Flirting with random girls is fun :) I'm glad to hear it works so often though. Definitely gonna start doing this.

I'm just gonna stay calm and keep having fun. Yes. This. 1000x this. What you just said here amounts to one of my biggest insights when it comes to this stuff. A lot of it comes down to knowing what to do. I used to be terrified of talking to a girl because I had no clue what to do, or how to be around her. Then one day, I realized, it's the exact same as talking to anyone else, just with a few extra elements. So my entire game looks like this: Talk to them like normal. Playfully tease them. Pus…

I've anyways wanted to try that with cashiers but I always have assumed that they would take it badly.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
